Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.
Get the appSan Juan de Villapañada and the albergue are about 700m up the road and off the camino. If you spend the night there, retrace your steps to rejoin the camino.
On the way up to El Friesnu you will pass through La Pelona.

Great place! Domingo is very talkative and such a nice guy. Has got a kitchen, two bathrooms and clean water.
Cash only. Also, definitely take your own sleeping bag.

Loved the albergue. Felt like being home right away. We did groceries before climbing up, but even if you have no food there is enough ingredients to cook something for donativo. There is a short selection of alcohol with set prices. Domingo, the hospitalero is really friend and helps you in whatever. 20 beds, separate bathroom for men and women.

The albergue is a great place to stay if you want skip Grado and still have strength in your legs for a steep climb. The view and laidback atmosphere makes it worthwhile.
The keeper, Mr. Domingo, is a great host. He keeps the fridge stocked with yogurt, fresh eggs and cheese, bread, crackers and many other food you can cook for a donativo. Also, he keeps beer, wine, sidra, and other drinks you can purchase for cheap. As for coffee and sodas, there is a vending machine for that. Overall, the albergue is a great place to see the sunset. The only downside is that there is no WiFi.

Super friendly, cozy and clean albergue, with outstanding views over the mountain

Worth it for the friendly owner, Domingo, and the awesome sunrise. There is a kitchen with a stove but no microwave, as well as a laundry machine.
