Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Portugués app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

A confusing junction in an otherwise unremarkable village. At the end of town, the route splits:
Left takes you toward Centeáns and O Porriño along a longer but much more peaceful path through forest and along the river. This riverside route was created by the Galician pilgrim association as a tranquil alternative to the industrial zone.
Right takes you directly to O Porriño through almost 5 km of industrial zone.
Turn left. After the turn, there's another junction where you turn left again — ignore the yellow X marks trying to steer you back to the industrial route. The forest stretch ends at the highway, where you enter Centeáns.
Keep your eyes wide open when passing through Orbenlle. This town is nothing of note but is a very confusing place for pilgrims to find themselves.
The route splits here and depending on who you ask the answer of where to go will differ. The deciding point is at the end of town at a fork in the road. Don’t fret. There are only two ways to go:
LEFT, towards Centeáns and O Porriño along a longer but much more tranquil path. Distances indicated in this guide are for this route. It has been created by the pilgrim association in Galicia as a peaceful alternative to the out of control industrial zone into O Porriño and is often referred to as the riverside walk.
NOTE: After turning left to head into the forest and towards the river, there is another junction where you again have to turn left. There are arrows and the yellow "x" all over the place (designed to steer you back to the industrial zone) but have faith that you will get to the river soon.
The stretch through the forest ends at the highway, where you enter Centeáns.
RIGHT, directly to O Porriño but through an almost 5km stretch of an industrial zone.
The best advice is to turn left; bearing in mind that some arrows and even the locals will tell you to turn right.

The alternative route by the river is now well marked with yellow arrows. Just turn left at the “confusing junction” at Orbenlle. I met Javier of the pilgrim’s association and he told me of how they worked hard for years to establish this alternative route to the unpleasant industrial way. I 100% recommended walking by the river.

Amazing place with great food, amazing host, hammocks and a pool to unwind, chickens and their free ranged eggs for breakfast. I don’t want to ruin the morning ritual for anyone, but that alone should make you wanna stay here🥰. Also silence + great beds + good vibes & views! One last thing >local wine!

If you can arrange to stay here, then do so. Dries and Otto are exceptional hosts. The atmosphere, the food, the fellowship is what everyone should experience every day. Worth every penny.

Unique small albergue by great owner Dries and his dog Otto. In stead of listing all great things here, let you surprise you!!

What a wonderful place! It’s hard to describe Casa Alternativo. Comfortable, friendly, quirky, full of personality, delicious food, good bar, pool…
It was created by Dries a few years ago based on his own experiences as a pilgrim. He knows what we need!

I stayed here 1 night I'm so glad I found this place. The ownerr put his heart and soul into what matter. Absolutely delicious dinner. and attention to detail with the breakfast by candlelight. Great 70s 80s music. Very sweet dog by the way. The bunks are custom- made. Easy to climb up if you have a top bunk and they do not creak or make noise... great bohemian type place but still clean atmosphere I would stay again. Reservation recommended as I saw some e walk up and it was full. 30 euros (currently) for bunk dinner and breakfast.

Great place with hammocks and a pool. The owner cooks a really great meal. Otto the dog is so sweet. If a more bohemian vibe is more your style, this is your place.

5. August 2020 - 13:00
There is a Cafe just on the road before it splits. Nice place to have a break. There is new stones with directions both ways: the left term is marked ‘C.Complementario’

Take the green route. Accidentally went red and the majority is along one industrial road. Green route comes out right by the state albergue.

This alternative route is very well marked with obelisks.
