Services

Furelos has a Roman bridge, a church, and a bar — a satisfying combination. The bridge is small but genuinely ancient, its stones worn smooth by two millennia of traffic. The bar serves excellent tortillas.

The Iglesia de San Juan has an unusual crucifix depicting Jesus with one arm reaching upward rather than stretched to the side — a rare variation worth seeing.

History:

The village and its pilgrim hospice were owned by the Hospitallers of San Juan in the 12th century. The bridge is Roman in origin, rebuilt in the medieval period.

Generous portion of pasta

I took a 6€ spaghetti bolognese portion at the bar just before the bridge. The portion size was very generous.

Great lunch at the bar before the bridge

My mother and I enjoyed a nice lunch here. They made a vegetarian lentil soup that she loved. I had chicken breasts with salad and patatas fritas - was very tasty. Very nice couple runs the place. They accept credit cards.

Iglesia closed

The guy at the bar said it’s been closed two years.

Well, we counted on this

Well, we counted on this suggested bar to do a lunch pause. Even if the siesta was finished at 4:30 p.m., it was closed, no known opening hours. Pass.
