Scenic view of Cacheiro on the Camino Portugués

Camino Portugués App

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Portugués app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Cafe Fermin was a lifesaver

Small but well run and good value. Only a very short walk off the Camino and you return down the road to rejoin. I needed that coffee so badly...

A truck stop in the forest

There is a very well equipped truck stop with a generator and hot coffee plus a few snacks at the top of the hill. Definately a lovely spot to stop. Would be even better if pilgrims talked in hushed tones to enjoy the noises of the forest more. Take a moment to be quiet and think big inwardly, rather than talk loud. Enjoy

Dinks and rest points in forest

In the forest, there are at least 2 points where local people organised a rest points for pilgrims and sell drinks and some souvenirs. Nice stops before hill.

when you finally come down

when you finally come down off the mountain, across the main road, you will see a sign for a café 50 m up to the right. Cafe Fermin. It is definitely worth the stop. Has a shop and great coffee. Lovely proprietors.
