Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Portugués app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

A small village with one accommodation option — Casa da Fernanda — which is highly recommended as a warm, pilgrim-friendly experience. The camino continues along the narrow road, climbing to Vitorino.
The only accommodation in town, Casa da Fernanda, is highly recommended as a pilgrim friendly experience.
Keep on along the narrow road climbing up to Vitorino.

Is all everyone says. Stay there. 14 pilgrims from all around me the world spent the afternoon meeting each other (with a glass of wine!). Then we had a communal meal and sang songs to guitar played by one of the pilgrims. Good food and company. Gray value when you include the wine and dinner and breakfast. I met up with many of the 14 over the next days on the trail.

Lovely little place to stop for some water and a snack, especially if you leave Barcelos early in the morning.

If you have the opportunity to stay with Ferdinanda and her family, jump on it. From the moment I walked through her gate, I felt welcomed and at home. There were 10 pilgrims from all over the world the night I stayed, and I feel like it was truly a beautiful Camino experience. Wonderful food and company, and a clean, comfortable place to shower and sleep. Ferdinanda and her husband were kind, gracious hosts. A real treasure!

We just passed by and knocked the door. There was just one bed left. But then another one was just raised so my wife and I could stay too. Wauu
The rest of the stay was like that - coziness and experience for life with wine, good cooking, international “sing a song” contest and happiness.
It was our first stay at a Albergue- since then we have had many thanks to this experience.

If you possibly can, stay here. I’ve done the Camino Frances and Portugues, this is firmly one of my top two places to stay.
10. June 2024 - 10:14
A Casinha at the end of town is a pleasant stop for coffee, beer, wine and food.

Fernanda is the best host you can get in the Camino. Everything went better than expected and I am grateful for every detail she put in receiving the peregrinos

Everyone should try to stay at Fernanda's place. From the moment she welcomes you, she is there for you and takes good care of you. She offers wine, snacks, homemade food ...,.... Singing and dancing. There is a great atmosphere. You must try it.

Some of the kindest people I’ve ever met, I stayed there alone and they took me in and treated me as if I was their own blood. Jacinto even gave me a hot water bottle for my bed, I almost feel bad not paying them more than what they asked of me, they truly deserve it. Price data on this app is old.

Appreciate it very much.

The best albergue so far since lisbon! Warm welcome and such a delightful atmosphere. Be prepared for music and fun!
23. April 2023 - 18:13
We tried to book casa fernanda but we’re unable to get hold of her.. and hence was fully booked when we arrived.. next option at valinhas was shut up with no signs of life and casa sagre was also unavailable.. next option is another 7kms away.. we opted to taxi to Ponte Lima as was pouring down .. I suppose moral is Nik and don’t leave to chance!

Another shout-out for Valinhas, less than 1 km past Fernanda. Multi-bed room plus single rooms with amazing shower; communal dinner with fireplace in corner, vegetarian
option and own wines & olive oil. (Fernanda isn’t only option.)

Prepare to stay up late in great conversation!
31. December 2022 - 9:10
We stayed here on 30 December 2022 and Fernarda opened her home when she technically wasn't open. Inviting us to be with her family too.
17. September 2022 - 11:23
1km further is Lagar de Valinhas, which I also recommend.
9. September 2022 - 13:46
This is an albergue that should be the standard for others to follow.
The warm welcome is genuine and needs to be experienced.
The husband and wife double act provide you with everything you could possibly need.
The communal evening meal is worth the stay itself.
I cannot speak highly enough of this place.

Truly an amazing and warm stay. True Camino spirit and community. I can’t say enough about Fernada. This couple give from there hearts.
