Like staying in an antique shop! The upstairs is a site to see with antique furniture, nicknacks, and photos. The garden is very relaxing. I highly recommend.

We arrived early after climbing the previous hills and were welcomed before check in time without issues. There are several dormitories, some slightly larger than others but all looked personal and homely. The garden was great on this warm day. No dinner provided, restaurant close by

Marlene is awesome! Her home is so lovely and she gave me tea and biscuits when I arrived. She made an effort to accommodate as many people as she could the night I stayed, I was lucky to get one of the last beds! Super cool to hear the history of the house and there was a great comfort in sleeping in a place that rich with Camino history.

Hostess was very friendly, very busy. Place was totally booked but still spacious. We were 3 women travelling and she juggled the rooms so we had an all female room.Breakfast was provided and washing machine available. Everything was clean and tidy. Restaurant just down the road has adequate pilgrim menu and good service. Would recommend.

I don't know if this was a situation unique to the day that I stayed there but the communal meals seem to no longer be a part of the stay. Understandable with the cost of food these days but it is unfortunate that I wasn't able to get the full experience.

I really want to stay here but can’t get a reply to WhatsApp or email.

A beautiful and quiet place with a very kind and welcoming host. Everything was spotlessly clean and well cared for. The garden is lovely — a perfect spot to relax after a long day on the Camino.
The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Part of the albergue, with the common area, looks like a small museum and leaves a lasting impression.
When we arrived, we were welcomed with coffee and local treats, which was a lovely gesture. There was also a self-service breakfast available the next morning.
They have washing and drying machines for use, as well as an area for hand-washing laundry.
A very comfortable and charming stop on the Camino — highly recommended!

We very much enjoyed the garden and a very sumptuous pilgrim dinner was provided in the evening. Sadly there wasn’t a great deal of privacy when going to the toilet or having a shower and to get to these facilities we had to walk past an open balcony sleeping area and through the kitchen which was inconvenient if you had to go to the toilet at night.

Would have loved to stay here but didn't answer my WhatsApp or Instagram messages even though it said their season started March 1.

Hi there
We’re planning to walk the Camino in April and to keep pack weight down ideally not carry a sleeping bag.
So wondering if bedding is available at Ninho - the Pilgrims nest?
Thanks

As others have said, Marlene is a gem. So kind and welcoming. She clearly has a lot on her plate, but will always stop what she’s doing to answer a question or greet a newcomer. For those of us who were willing, she was happy to give us tasks like setting the table or prepping the salad. As with any place where people feel at home, it seemed like everyone wound up in the kitchen during meal prep, pilgrims sipping wine or beer and lots of lively conversation. The meal itself was that writ large. I can say with confidence that everyone there had a wonderful time. I know I did!

Marlene was a splendid hostess, we were welcomed into her home ( was originally her grandmothers house) that she has restored and developed into a cosy place to spend time. A delicious home cooked donativo meal. We felt well rested and prepared for the next day

The hostess Marlene welcomed us with kindness and generosity. She cooked a wonderful dinner (donativo) for all 18 pilgrims which was a great opportunity to bond with fellow travelers. My stay here was the highlight of the Portuguese Camino.

This is the best albergue on the camino. The host is really lovely, she puts her heart into it. The albergue is really beautiful and cozy. She made us an incredible dinner. You can have tea or coffee, there are also fireplaces which felt amazing after a rainy day. It really felt like home. Definitely a must stop. Do not miss this.

Only 300m further than the official albergue. Very friendly host, clean sheets, next to the only restaurant with good Pilgrim menu.

Lovely and cozy little albergue. Right on the Camino. If I remember correctly there is a kitchen. About 5-10 minutes walk away there is a little supermarket and a restaurant. I made a reservation the night before via telephone and it worked without problem.

Marlene was a gem, as genuine and warm as it gets. She welcomed us with cold beer and some snacks, then turned the beautiful space over to us. Dinner was at the restaurant down the street, but could have been prepared in the kitchen, there being a Mercado 300 metres away.
Great stay and right on the Camino.

Marlene is one of the best hosts on the entire Camino Portugues.
Her albergue is spotless, charming, and shows a bit of traditional construction and life in the Portuguese manner. The charm and warmth of this place is unbelievable.
