Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Vía de la Plata app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Basic

Basic, with good outside to look over the hills.
Bar a few 100m back
Shower with little privacy. After this long, didn’t care anymore.

Grateful for this hostel

I was exhausted as I started in Ferreios this am. The other 2 in town were full or rooms closed (Garcia) so I was sure happy they had a bed for 10€ The ice ox was a welcome bonus too.

Nice place to stop

This was our first experience with the bunk house! It was very fun. They provided covers for the pillow and mattress and we met a lot of nice people. The hosteria next door had good pizza and cold beer!

I wouldn’t recommend

The main issue for me is lack of privacy in the showers. The bathrooms are separated by gender. In each, there are two shower heads in a single space, with no curtains or doors. I’m not showering with a random pilgrim.

There is not much room between bunks, and it feels crowded. It can be difficult to find an open bar in this town.

On the plus side, the check-in lady was friendly. And each bed has an individual light, with a USB port on the underside. The bathrooms were reasonably clean.

Rude lady on bar

There was a shockingly rude and angry lady working in the bar, and she was unbelievably slow.

Basic

A simple place, with lots of bunks in one room. There is a kitchen with a stove, but no dishes, cutlery or pots. Luckily, we had some cookware with us, as there were no other options in town to eat when we were there (other restaurants were closed). There wasn't anywhere to store bikes, but we locked them out back to a post and it felt safe enough

Plain

Absolutely basic needs, a bit soulless but does the job and clean. Only microwave no utensils. On the busy road.

1. September 2024 - 20:19

Simple, comfortable beds and good hot showers

Great food at Casa Garcia for dinner (kitchen closes at 7 sharp). Disposable sheets.

3. August 2024 - 19:18

Highway noise

The road noise from the highway is significant. That being said this is a good albergue. Absolutely no pots pans or utensils in the kitchen. bathroom and showers are good. So bring your food and utensils with you.

Open year round

Warm and cozy. Clean and friendly. Bring your own food as nothing available nearby. Great heaters for drying your wet boots! Microwave and fridge in kitchen for pilgrims to use.

5. June 2023 - 14:56

Basic service, no frills.

No reservations, which is nice. Clean facility. Kitchen has no utensils, but does have a microwave and mini fridge. Stove, but no pans. The showers run hot and cold.

12. November 2022 - 16:35

Open, 12th of November

They don’t answer the phone, but are open now, 12th of November. Very basic. No food around so bring some from Portomarin. Also almost no utensils in the kitchen so bring food that doesn’t require cooking haha

10. November 2022 - 21:22

Simple and nice

Almost no cooking utensils, bring yours

17. May 2019 - 8:25
