Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Posted hours

Posted hours are currently 14:00-20:00. Take note of the closing hour as it's nearly impossible to do a sit down dinner that starts at 19:30 or 20:00 and pretty tight even for 19:00. You will have to get to go or cook your own; plan accordingly

Open & good

We stayed here mid april 2026. Really good place, from reading earlier reviews I’m assuming it had a good upgrade. The showers and bathrooms are quite modern and clean, it has one dorm, I counted more than 16 beds, I think it was about 20. Camping in the garden is not allowed anymore. Very friendly host. Small but good kitchen also, and a laundry line outside to dry your clothes in the sun when the weather allows it :)

Closed for 2022!

This Albergue had a sign in the door saying it is closed for the 2022 season. I stayed at pension Catamaran (it’s not a hostel). It was a good alternative to rest and let my blisters calm a bit. I stayed a few days.

I was there when it was supposed to open and it was full and using tents. Inadequate facility for the number of people staying.

Hospitalero was great and there were tents already outside with mattresses, so I slept there - very comfortable! Kitchen has many facilities including a stove, so we cooked pasta for everyone:). Also a centrifuge was there to dry clothes. It gets competitive with the space, so you may feel safer booking ahead in Islares or something if you can’t arrive before it opens. But if you have a tent, just camp in the backyard!

This is the worst place on my

This is the worst place on my 10 day Camino. Small, dirty, and smells very bad. 16 people in one room, too overcrowded. No laundry, limited shower room, bathroom basically in the hallway. Took all the effort to be there first as there only 16 beds, walked 27 km from Portugalete, arrived 5th and eventually gave up my place as I was leaving to the hotel in Islares because to live in this conditions is a disgrace. I really wanna see the person who wrote this was a nice place. I am sure there could be bed bags as the shits are not from usual rubber material. Stay away. Fox

Had phone and money stolen

Had phone and money stolen last night. Tracked phone to a local address—not taken be fellow pilgrims. But sorry to say taken by local people. Be very careful with belongings. But confused how local person could get into albergue in middle of night.

Got here at 3:45 and already full! Never had a problem with a bed before this, especially not so early in the day. Got a tent, or an offer of a mattress on the dining room floor after dinner.

If you don’t get a bed or tent, it may be a bit uncomfortable because you’re basically homeless until about 9pm when they clear the dining area and put down a mattress for you. Tiny fridge and basic cooking facilities. There’s a small market down the street if walking back into town doesn’t appeal to you.
