Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Vía de la Plata app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Nothing says you have to stop here, or there. These are simply the towns within a comfortable day's walk, so you can decide tonight.

Looks very derelict and closed.
Not sure how long but weeds are high in the courtyard.
A shame as it looked lovely - and it is a long walk to the next one!

I stopped here and it was so worth it. What a magnificent allbergue. I am hiking in July and it was like a lost paradise. Great owner. I was the only pilgrim on Camino no one as crazy as me I suppose. I am an Aussie. Maria looked after me like I was something precious. There is a swimming pool, bar, lots of entertainment if you had friends poor me. The rooms were air conditioned and I had fresh linen yes linen and bath towels. The food was amazing. It has to be the best place to stay on the Via Plata I reckon. This is my second time walking the VP this beautiful paradise was not here in 2019 or otherwise I missed it.
If you do stay it’s a great place to rest and relax. I did a big walk the next day but this place is so worth it. I felt blessed and well loved after but by the establishment but also the Camino. The day I arrived was 38degrees.

Travelling in a makeshift pack stretched between Zafra and Villafranca de los Barros, a pilgrim suggested this place after leaving Zafra.
On arrival I was told it was closed due to a Fiesta. It turned out he just didn’t like the look of me. I saw two Spanish hikers and their Basset Hounds enjoying the facilities. I was told accommodation was just 4km away. It wasn’t, it was over 6.5 km and gave me 40+km for the day.
Imagine my thoughts after I advised my German friend by text to be prepared for a long walk into Villafranca and he replied that he had been admitted without fuss and was sharing a room with the couple and their two Basset Hounds.
I’m sure it’s a very nice place, but the owner does not deserve the patronage of pilgrims. Don’t take the 500m detour, stick to route and enjoy a night in Villafranca.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The Spanish government has redone an old building that used to house with all of processing facility into a beautiful place to stay. It has a pool and lots of cool spots to sit in the shade. All the mattresses are new and the bathrooms spotless. It’s definitely worth hiking through Zafra to stay here if you can. It has a much more rural setting and the hostess works very hard to make sure your stay is pleasant.

The albergue is new and wonderful with in room heater. There is a bar/cafe to stop for lunch or a cafe con leice. Also a restaurant that serves wonderful food. I think it’s the best place I have stayed so far. In the middle of nothing, there is magic. Buen Camino!
