We stopped in this village today. There is a small but well stocked supermarket in the centre of the village that also sells good coffee. Neither route goes past it but it’s a small village and easy enough to find. They do not have a toilet and there are no public toilets so we were directed to the bar, which opens at 10.30 which is on the old route into town. Be sure to take your own toilet paper though.

Lovely posada in town, about a block from the church. The dinner the landlord made us was outstanding, as was the breakfast which is included in the room price. We stayed there in April 2025 and found it delightful.

There's a covered bus stop just after you cross the N630 before yiu reach Castellanos. Good for a rest. Nice murals too.

Lovely murals in this village. Make sure you see the one of Santiago cathedral on the other side of the water tower.
