Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Llanes is the most popular town on the Asturian coast and earns its reputation. The old quarter is a medieval grid of narrow streets enclosed by fragments of the original town walls, packed with bars, restaurants, and enough architectural interest to warrant a slow wander.
The Basílica Menor de Santa María de la Asunción and the Capilla de Santa Ana are the main monuments, though you may get turned around finding them in the web of pedestrian streets. On the waterfront, the Cubos de la Memoria — a series of painted concrete blocks by Basque artist Agustín Ibarrola — add a jolt of color to the harbor.
On the approach into town you can't miss the large Casas de Indianos, many well preserved and contributing to the reason Llanes draws the tourist crowds it does. To the south, the Cantabrian mountains are visible, and the limestone caves of the Cabrales valley — source of Spain's finest blue cheese — are within day-trip distance.
All services: bars, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacy, accommodation, train station. The old town's concentration of pintxo-style bars makes it one of the better eating stops between Bilbao and Gijón.
The camino enters Llanes from the south along the Avenida de la Concepción and continues along it all the way to the Río Carrocedo. At the river, the streets are mostly for pedestrians only and the camino does not deviate from the road, it follows along through several name changes and the old town and passes the train station on the way out of town. Shortly after it leaves the road and turns left to cross the railway and continue along a path to Póo.

I checked into Albergue La Casona because I wanted to treat myself to a private room. Instead, I booked a bed in a 6-bed dorm. Facilities include: three toilets and three showers for everyone, a dining room, a microwave, and a refrigerator. In the room there is: a sink for washing and a lockable locker. Well, this albergue would be better suited as a donativo, but I wouldn't pay €20 for it again.

Two minutes around the corner from the Albergue Estacion. Menu del dia all day, best meal of the del norte. Genuine locals favourite. Wholesome tasty, vegetables, fish, meat ( thankfully no burgers).

Finding a place to stay was difficult (as its peak season), went to the tourist information office and they gave me a list of albergues in the area-despite the whole town being sold out, this place is empty! 25€, no kitchen but a place to shower, sleep and wash clothes.

Kitchen has only fridge and microwave, not even sink or cutlery. WiFi is bad, no place to do laundry.

Pizza was good but not the best in the world

Went to the recommended pizza place, it was indeed very good. If you stay at Hostel Llanes (highly recommend you do - new, clean, secure, smells nice, €20) it's only 250m away at the gorgeous docks. And best of all it's beside the Irish pub Sloínta - incorrect Irish but if you go in and ask the owner (the appropriately named Santiago) will explain. Can't recommend this pub highly enough, great music and some of the best and kindest hospitality I received on the Camino (full disclosure, I'm Irish, but to be honest that usually makes me more judgemental of Irish pubs abroad)

Highly recommend pizzeria compuerta Llanes. I really like pizza, but this was next level. Not too costly, round about 10-12 € for a big pizza. It’s near the port, so a bit far from the albergues. You can also order - 659490518

The coastal route from Andria is lovely but will bring you in next to the golf course where you will be routed along a gravel track which climbs and meanders along the ridge for a long way before bringing you down towards Llanes past the Eremita del Cristo de Camino. It’s pretty but it adds a good 45 mins to your walk and the last downhill is steep and slippy. It also doesn’t have much shade until the end. If it’s hot the road might be a better option. BlueK

Stayed there last night. They charge a lot, but they do not care about pilgrims. The most shocking thing for me was that pilgrims are not allowed to wake up, use the shower and have tea before 7 am. Although many of the pilgrims prefer to get on the Camino by 6 am. I can understand the rule about washing and drying clothes, but the timing rule is so easy to change.

Stayed at Pension Guia right on the main square for 30 Euros. Clean and very nice
