Camino del Norte App

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Bar on the road at the alto. Higher prices for tourists have been reported, so confirm before ordering. Between here and A Fonsagrada the camino follows near or directly on the main road, passing through Cabreira and Fonfria.

The Camino:

The camino passes the bar at the alto and keeps off of the road for a short distance. Between here and Fonsagrada it will follow adjacent to, or directly on, the main road. You will pass through Cabreira halfway to Fonfría.

Good spot between Grandas and A Fonsagrada

I had raxo con queso caliente bocadillo, coffees and aquarius to find the strength to walk more, it was one of those days and I was happy to find this restaurant

An oasis!

The bar is in the middle of nowhere and it’s a very timely stop. Yes the prices might be €1 more per item than in the villages, but I didn’t really care, I was just pleased to find it.

The food was basic but good, the staff were busy but polite.

It had a great atmosphere as it was rammed with peregrinos

May 2024 bar is open

So grateful this was open. Very nice people. Food and beer options, all prices posted on the wall so no surprises like expressed below. We arrived at Noon on a Sunday, so if it’s open now it will be open other days. Be sure to stop!

Very Rude

The bar tender here is very rude. He was asking some pilgrim’s “What the f**k do you want?” in Spanish. You’re better off avoiding him and going to Catro Ventos further down the trail.
