Scenic view of Labruge on the Camino Portugués

Camino Portugués App

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Portugués app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Services

Labruge is a small seaside town. Most services, including the albergue, are located off the camino -- you'll need to turn toward the village center to find them. The beach here is broad and often empty midweek.

The Camino:

At the end of town is the Avenida Da Libertade, turn right here to get to the albergue or continue straight along the beach walk. Arrows are sparse, but a few point the way to the Castro of Sampaio.

Beds

Beds too squeaky. Lots of alarms and phones going off. Terrible night's sleep

24. August 2026 - 10:00

Casa da Praia

Fairly Nice but a bit overpriced. Slim options in LaBruge so didn’t have much of a choice. Did not see a host until the morning I left when breakfast was served. One full bath for 6 rooms.

Route along the beach closed

on 23 June 2026 the beach route had a fence across it after quite a ways. we had to backtrack and then go through the commercial route through Labruge. There may have been a way around on the sand, but we chose to backtrack instead.

Albergue location

The Albergue is very good. Good vibe, clean, & extras eg. Kitchen facilities. Courteous staff too.
However it is located further inland than on the map. Keep walking to traffic lights and its just past there on your left.. Bom Caminho

We stayed at Smiling Places

We stayed here Oct 18, 2024 it was the first night of the Camino. The hosts were kind and very welcoming. The room had its private bathroom. Everything was super clean, room was cozy and bed was comfy. Breakfast was yummy and they even packed a lunch for us. We would definitely come back, it was one of our favourite places to stay along the Camino. We highly recommend! Nancy & Louis from Québec, Canada.

Smiling Places

This is my 3rd camino and i have had plenty of great hosts, but Elizabete and Fernando are beyond great. Best hosts i have experienced. They could not do enough for us including adapting breakfast to suit my daughter's severe allergies. The rooms were beautiful and clean and our breakfast was superb. Elizabete not only took our washing and washed and dried it for us but also took the time to talk us through our next days walk, highlighting the "must stop and see" points of interest. She was fabulous. Can't rate higher

Smiling Places

If you can, stay at Smiling Places. Elizabete, the owner, is a Camino angel: so warm and welcoming! She organised a taxi for us to get to a Decathlon as well as helping us to order pizza delivery (we arrived in the middle of a storm). Room and breakfast were both excellent.

Good Stay

We had a really nice stay at this Albergue. The host Annabelle was fantastic. She even very kindly helped me with blisters on my feet. Rooms are big nice with a disposable sheet and pillow case. We only used the bathroom facilities but they were nice and it was good have a locker right near the bathrooms.

Casa de Praia guest hose

Maria was our host and she was fantastic! Explained everything well.. easy check in.. wash and dry or wash and hang outside available and reasonable, breakfast included. But we were leaving early because of hot weather- so Maria made us a sandwich the night before & had cake and fruit ready for us so we could get an early start. She so called around to check on dinner options for us as we there during Portugal holiday season. Service above and beyond.

Casa de Praia Guest House

We booked the King Suite as we wanted a private bath. It was more expensive than most hotels on our route (151 euros). Not much else to choose from in Labruge. We are an older couple and are walking shorter distances. Clean, quiet and has a kitchen you can use. We found a supermarket a few blocks away. Fairly close to the Camino.

Albergue de S. Tiago

Great place, very clean and new. A dryer and wachine machine. A little supermarket near. At 900 m of the beach. Great kitchen to cook, no breakfast (you do your own). Around 12 beds in dormitories with sheets. Really good ! Nice ambiance. A must to see and stay !!!

Albergue De S. Tiago

This is an excellent place to stay. Recently renovated and plenty of beds, very clean facilities and lovely staff this is one of the best. Very close by is a mini market and a very good snack bar. Highly recommended.

Excellent guest house and Elizabeth is awesome. Breakfast is included and good

Albergue de S. Tiago

Make sure to arrive before 4pm as they are fully booked pretty quickly. Staff was adding additional fold-out beds to accommodate late arrivals. We were told the coastal route is becoming more and more popular but is not yet equipped for the increasing number of pilgrims so they advised to make bookings in advance for other places.

Albergue S. Tiago renovated

April 14, 2024 - Albergue S. Tiago is open and has been renovated. Currently 15 euros for a dormitory bed. Everything seems clean and the staff are helpful. Disposable sheets and pillow covers are provided.

Sleeping in Casa de Praia

I stayed at Casa Da Praia

I stayed at Casa Da Praia which was excellent as a quiet space, somewhat expensive (59 eu) but if split with a buddy a double room isn’t too bad. There is a kitchen, an outdoor area / table and included breakfast. Close to the way, and very clean. Quiet once everyone is in bed, and a shared bathroom (one shower only) which is suffice given that the house is quite small.
