Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.
Get the appMontefurado is largely abandoned, with only a handful of occupied houses remaining. One has a tap you can use for drinking water -- ask first as a courtesy. A small chapel dedicated to Santiago stands as a reminder that pilgrims have been passing through here for over a thousand years. The name likely derives from the Latin mons foratus -- pierced mountain -- a reference to Roman mining tunnels in the area.
Pass through town and follow the trail to your left. You will have to step over a small wall. When the trail rejoins the road (AS-14) a few km onward, you can either stay on the track or follow along the road to Lago.

We found the faucet but it was not running.

The tap/faucet does indeed exist, and from it (once one pushes the button) gushes forth deliciously cold and very welcome water. Once you arrive in Montefurado, which is a like a Minecraft village, advance a few meters and you’ll find it on the right hand side of the door of house no.2.

I searched everywhere for the water tap and there was nothing. I even knocked on someone’s door and he was really mean, didn’t even want to give me some water while I had nothing left. It was 32 degrees and I was sooo thirsty and he just told me to get out of there and to get water in Lago but it’s still 4km away with the heat and all the comments of this fountain said that it was broken. I tried to explain to him but I was apologizing because my Spanish wasn’t very good. And that’s when he said « if you can’t even speak Spanish, get out of here ». I’m speechless oh how some people can be so heartless.

Next to the front door of the house there is a water tap. I was able to fill my bottle
