Camino Portugués App

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Portugués app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Services

The bar is in the albergue. The camino turns right at the church — which looks more like a miniature castle than a place of worship — and leaves the main road for a country lane through a string of hamlets before reaching Alvaiazere.

The Camino:

Turn right at the church that looks like more of a mini-castle, leaving the main road for a smaller country lane. You will pass the small hamlet of Oueteiro da Cotovia (it won’t feel like you left Cortiça) and at an intersection marked Outeirinho to the left, turn left.Pass through Outeirinho, turning right then immediately left again once you get there. Then you will pass through Feteiras and Portela da Feteiras, all before arriving in Alvaiazere.

Quinta da Cortica

Stopped into Quinta for a quick coffee/cold drink before continuing to Alvaiazere. Beautiful old building and the host family are very welcoming - speak English and French. Also, cards are accepted for payment here:)

The Quinta da Cortica - The New

Albergue has you enter the town and it’s on your right. Absolutely beautiful and extremely welcoming. The staff could not be more helpful and courteous. I stopped there to get a cafe and go on to Alvasizere but it was so charming, I stayed for the night! Very happy I did!

Cute old farm, but lots of mosquitos

We were three pilgrims, stopping here. The place was very authentic and cute. The pool was great and we got pizza and a salad for dinner.
Downside: there were lots of mosquitos so we didn’t have a good night rest and the bunk beds in the 8-pax dorm were very noise. The floor wasn’t very clean.

Quinta da Cortiça is amazing!

I got caught in a downpour so ran into an alberge, Quinta da Cortiça, and it’s the nicest place I’ve seen! They are cooking a huge family meal and it is nice, warm and cozy. Definitely recommend staying here or at least stopping by.

Quinta da Cortiça

A really nice and beautiful place, had a really good sleep however the service was really poor. If you want to eat something the lady can make you a sandwich with cheese and ham but nothing more. In the machine just some beer and chips. We ordered from a take away but after 40minute of waiting we decided to stop the order because was too late.
But at leas as we wrote before we had a good sleep :).

Ambergris Quinta da Cortical

Extraordinarily beautiful place in a former farm with stunning chambers and a pool. The dorm is not as cleverly designed as in other hostels in terms of light and bathrooms and no sheets are provided. Also there is no real kitchen and the breakfast is limited (great coffee, though). The hosts and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.

The church hostel

Is beautiful!! He charged 20€ for a bed and breakfast included. Washing machines and driers I believe are available and the man running it was incredibly nice and interesting. I didn’t sleep here but I regret that I didn’t

Nice accommodation / no real dinner or breakfast

Very nice accommodation. But really challenging to get real food over there. Only fast food in plastic bags that you can heat up in a microwave. Alvaiazere would have been the better choice.

María and her family have

María and her family have created a superb albergue oasis on the Camino. Very new, clean, comfortable, welcoming warm and friendly. We ended up staying here with 5 other pilgrims we met along the way.
