Magical Place - Fernanda is maybe the most famous

More than 25 year Fernanda opens her home to daily maximum 10 pilgrims. She serves home made food and wine,

saved my camino!

i would have been stranded alone, in the dark, during one of the coldest nights of the year when everywhere else closed early if I did not by chance run into Fernanda who offered up her home despite being closed. I cannot advertise that people stay here in winter because they ARE closed - but her kindness saved me!! trail angels are real - i am forever grateful and can only sing praises for this place

It’s definitely worth making this your stop

The hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating. I would have gladly paid twice the price considering all of the food and beverages provided at the communal dinner. You must stay here.

Touched

Truly appreciated the hospitality of Fernanda.

Food and drink were nourishing and made with love. Got to meet like-minded guests and connect in true Camino spirit.

Cannot emphasise enough how beautiful the garden and space is - feels like an oasis.

True spirit of the Camino

My Camino Portuguese started the minute we entered Casa Fernanda whose warmth and character is unparalleled. From the minute we arrived, she welcomed us with fresh fruit water, making home made Padrón peppers and croquettes. Dinner was fantastic with singing and grapes and stories. Don’t pass up the opportunity to stay here if you can - our camino family grew from here.

One of the Best anywhere

Casa Fernanda sure deserves its glowing reputation. The hosts are warm and helpful. Single beds, no bunks. Beautiful gardens. Excellent communal dinner (vegetarian options available) with wonderful joyful singing after. I regret leaving before breakfast because I heard it was great too. Go out of your way to stay here.

Best stay on the Camino

Fernanda and her husband are the most amazing hosts. The albergue is so well set up, the beds are spaced and very comfortable. Fernanda cooked the most delicious meal, made from the heart and really brought everyone there together. If you get the chance you must stay here. Evelyn Australia.

A must do!

What a wonderful, welcoming home. Arriving earlier than scheduled, due to injury, I was made comfortable and welcome. Fernanda ensured that the seven pilgrims spending the night were well fed and wine was shared. It was here that our Camino Family bonds were formed and we enjoyed this special closeness all the way to SdeC.
This stay was a highlight of my Camino.

Casa Da Fernanda

Such a wonderful place to stay. The hospitality is amazing as are the Padron peppers, fish cakes and wine just for starters. Then there is the delicious dinner and breakfast in the morning. You are really made to feel welcome and at home. Incredible value too

Best albergue on Camino Portuguese

Incredibly friendly hostess, spread feels like a Carolina camp, all single beds, plenty of wine and tapas, and a really fun group of perigrinos. my second Camino and my second favorite spot of the night, first being the sisters of the Sacred Heart in Zabaldinka on Camino Frances

Simply Wonderful!

What a wonderful home in which to spend time with genuinely kind and friendly people. I was welcomed much earlier than scheduled and made to feel at home. The feeling of community was encouraged by delicious mid afternoon snacks and wine. Dinner was our best meal of the last 3 weeks and we were treated to flavoursome, hearty Portuguese cooking and delicious wine. Thank you for an unforgettable Camino experience!

Fantastic

This has been the best stay on our Camino and we started in Lisbon. Fernanda and her husband are wonderful hosts. The dinner was a beautiful assortment of Portuguese cuisine and fresh vegetables and salad. Not to be missed. Evelyn and Jo Australia

Wonderful experience!

Fernanda is a great , caring host, cooking from the heart. I am vegan and she prepared several dishes especially for me. In the morning I and the other pilgrim who stayed that day chatted for 2 hours with Fernanda at breakfast. :)

TOP!!!

The best albergue we've been to. Pleasant owners, wonderful homely atmosphere, amazing food... I recommend it 100% to all pilgrims.

Very good place to stop.

This is a most excellent place to stay. Dorm beds are not bunk beds. No true town close to buy food. But not to worry. Went we arrived hostess Fernanda make appetizers including Perdón peppers. Then served red and white wine. At 1900 was a great dinner at one big dinner. And then breakfast the next morning. Nice garden area to gather, do laundry, and hang things out to dry. Worth considering this off stage location. May need to reserve a few days in advance.

15. September 2022 - 20:06

Still the best one

Fernanda makes everyone feel welcome and provides a great environment on the Camino. By far the best Albergue on the Camino!

24. July 2021 - 13:05

Casa Fernanda - Best recommendation

Absolutely the best Albergue on the Portuguese Camino, or even the Frances. Book ahead (!) and be welcomed by Fernanda. Delicious, plentiful meal with homemade wine and Port. Clean and comfortable.
