One of my favourite albergue experiences!

I stayed on 24 August 2026. The doors open at 2pm, and we were greeted by the nicest volunteers from around the world — they checked three pilgrims at a time and gave each group a tour of the albergue which was very sweet. We also got water and watermelon while we waited to be checked in.

There are 3 showers and 1 male & 1 female toilet downstairs, and 1 toilet + shower for each gender upstairs. They offer a pilgrim meal for donation and you’ll need to book this by 5pm. There is not option to cook though but there is a microwave you can use.

It is also well-situated near pubs and tapas streets so you can make it back by 10pm (doors close).

Long wait, no kitchen, loud doorbell

For me I would not stay here if I had a choice but everything was booked. They put extra mats on the ground for people because the municipality one was closed. I waited for 2 hours until I finally got my mat, the check-in was very slow. The communal dinner was for me too late (20.00) and you are not allowed to use anything in the kitchen. The doorbell is really loud and because people will ring till 22.00 it is impossible to get any sleep before.

Stay here if you can!

Great energy and lovely meal. Bathrooms are clean, and beds are as comfortable as can be in a pretty basic albergue. The communal meal was so special.

Great experience

Even though it is a little old and only 2 toilets/showers for all. However, it was worth the experience with mess and communial dinner! I would stay again!

Closed today. Unlucky

Lovely experience

The place filled up fast but the overflow was put on mattresses upstairs. Simple vegetarian dinner (salad, pasta), lovely speech by hospitalero, evening prayers worthwhile even if not religious. Actual bunk room a bit run down, and only one toilet each for men and women, but it all worked out fine in the end. Would recommend for the experience.

This albergue is stuck in my heart!

When we arrived at the end of the evening they told us we could just lay down, have a rest and diner was taken care of by the volenteers!!! This was such a treat. After diner we got ‘underground’ into the church. Great vollenteers with very touching words for us

Simply Wonderful

This was the most uplifting Donativo. Their kindness and nice facilities makes it one not to be missed. The “secret” passageway to the beautiful adjoining church was so interesting.

Stay here!

10. April 2025 - 20:31

Very kind and welcoming

This hostel is next to the church and you feel this is part of the real spiritual Camino. They have a lovely, simple communal meal and also provide a simple breakfast. If your Camino is part of your spiritual journey stay here. And please be generous with your donativo so this wonderful tradition can continue.

11. July 2024 - 15:10

Welcoming and kind

Run by volunteers, prayers and shared dinner is optional
Some went out and explored town, coming back later.

The religious route: mass at 7pm, dinner at 8pm,short pilgrims prayer afterwards.

I slept well
Showers were clean
You take turns
My clothes dried
What else to you need?

prison

The dorm I stayed in was quite ugly, to put it bluntly -looked like a prison cell. There were also just two showers and one bathroom for the whole floor, and they were quite tight and not particularily clean. They do a dinner which you can sign up for (I didn’t) so I guess from a social aspect this would be nice. Depends on what you are looking for.

9. June 2024 - 7:50

Great spirit!

A simple albergue with very kind and welcoming hosts. The dinner was delicious! The dorm is a bit run-down but the beds are comfortable enough and they provide cotton sheets which is very nice.
There are not very many bathrooms and the showers weren’t very clean, but they do the job so long as you can wait your turn.

Dorm so-so, but incredible hosts and community

I wasn’t sure at first. Dorm room is nothing great and right next to noisy front door, but where this place shines is at the evening dinner then the (optional) prayer. The hosts are so kind and caring and it’s a great community environment with other pilgrims.

21. April 2024 - 20:53

Nice 🙂

It was nice, very simple but clean. Very good if you are Christian

29. September 2023 - 21:23

Nice stay

The volunteers were friendly and we helped them prepare a great communal meal. The mats for beds are very thin but there is windows in the room for fresh air. Not alot of bathroom, shower facilities but remember there are also toilets downstairs. The communal activity in the church after supper was lovely.

1. September 2023 - 19:19

Albergue open at 2:00 pm

This is Sept 1. Couldn’t get in until 2 pm. Decided to go to another Albergue since we were early.

30. March 2023 - 6:53

It is open.

I had a great stay here. Mistake that is says closed. March 29.2023

Supper 8:15 pm and breakfast included

I highly recommended.

13. September 2022 - 18:56

Great experience

I had a great experience here, was welcomed by kind and generous hospitaleros, in the evening there was a shared meal and then they led us through a secret passageway to the church where we had a lovely and simple prayer time as a group. If you’re on the Camino for a religious or spiritual reason, I recommend staying here. Just a word of caution, the noise in the streets can get loud at night, especially on the weekends, so it’s best to close the windows.

We are open to pilgrims now

We are open to pilgrims now (May 2021).
I am currently working as a Voluntary Hospitalera at the donativo refugio, which is part of the Parish and Church of Santiago El Real in Logroño. I can confirm that we are open and welcoming pilgrims and that we provide dinner and breakfast for anyone who would like it.
