Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Francés app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Nice place for recharging

Nice welcome by Iziquelle. Lockers under the bed, a curtain in front of your bed for extra privacy. Iziquelle was helpful and provided tips for the city. Also showed us his camino experiences dating back to the 90s. Nice place for recharging.

DO NOT STAY HERE!

There are places closer to the old part of town and closer to Camino

There are too many beds crammed into tiny space. Cubicle beds built nearly to the ceiling that restrict all airflow.

I left an accurate review and owner sent me WhatsApp message to keep his opinions from public view. Owner is a pig and full of ego. He is the greedy money hungry man taking advantage of pilgrims. Here’s what he said:

Sos una mal agradecida!!!!. Pero el camino ya te lo cobrará. Porque tu no eres peregrina!!!. Buscate un hotel con aire acondicionado!!! O quizas te crees mas de los que sos!!!

Very nice albergue and clean

Ezequiel is very helpful and patient. I don't have WhatsApp account when I reserve,he finally sent the payment link to my email. When we
arrived, there is no bottom bunks but he changed us to the bottom once somebody cancelled

Won’t Get Fooled Again

We were welcomed by a very nice host but it went downhill from there. The place is popular with people on a tight budget, apparently, and we had an unpleasant experience with the crowd that was there. While the place was clean for a brief period it seemed that the showers and bathrooms were inadequate for the number of guests. Two toilets are shared by all guests regardless of gender and the ventilation is such that …. well, there isn’t any. If you’re going to stay there, bring earplugs and nose plugs!

Very helpful host.

Ezikiel was so welcoming and I was having terrible foot problems and he direct me to a local store to get something new and he arranged a 10% discount. Yes, it's a basic accommodation bit you have all you need there. On checking out. I left my spare trainers behind. I called Ezikiel and he arranged for them to be sent to my next Albergue for me. Super service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Small not worth it

Doesn’t worth the price

Lovely host, but basic accommodation

If it weren’t for the lovely host, this would be one of more disappointing albergues. It’s very basic. Just bed and bathroom. Nowhere to socialise or hang around and rest, apart from your bed. Bathrooms were very basic and only 3 showers and 2 toilets for about 30 people.

A very nice albergue

Ezekiel was very kind and accommodating. This albergue gives you space to lock your valuables. Also felt like I had room to breathe here. Definitely recommend. October 2022

AUG22 Simple, clean dorm style with warm host

The space is clean and simple, one big room with bunks, one small private room with bunks, and a kitchenette/eating area. It's located right in this circular plaza of apartments so the park and plenty of benches are right out the door. Ezequiel is such a nice host, he offered beverages upon arrival. He also responds to Whatsapp messages quickly if you go looking for him. They don't currently accept CC and i didn't have cash on me yet but he let me check in and showed me where the closest ATM was so i could finish paying him later! Laundry/dryer and hand wash available, lots of lines to dry.

Ezequiel was a warm host

After a wee bit of confusion how to enter the Albergue (hint look for the owner at the bar immediately to the right where I think he also works, if no one answers the door), I settled in to a very nice 2 night stay. He offered me lemon water, free apple, ear plugs and a schedule of events for San Mateo festival all without my asking! Just anticipating my needs. Got a nice warm blanket when I asked for it. Was allowed to sleep all day if I wanted for my rest. A bit crowded as had been said but clean and easy to come and go. Loved the locker!

July 2021

This Albergue is run with pilgrims in mind. Clean, nice showers, good washing possibilities, decent bunks. The owner was really friendly and he’d put bananas and some snacks on everyone’s night tables. These little things - like having a locker, night table and hooks - really make a difference. The place was locked in the evening and we got a code that we could enter with, which also felt safe in a bigger city. However, all bunks are in one large dormitory and even at 50% capacity due to covid it felt a bit crowded. Location is a bit off the camino. We were happy with our stay here!

I guess the albergue was

I guess the albergue was closed for a time. Ezeqiuel only took over Albas about a month ago. He moved here from Argentina and hopes to bring the rest of his family soon. Even though the hostel is a few minutes off of the camino, it really is worth it. It is a dorm setting, but cheap. And many options nearby for food, supermarket and pharmacy. And even better the beds are on the first floor!!! No stairs, unless you get the top bunk (sorry).

24. September 2020 - 11:21

The albergue is open, not

The albergue is open, not sure why someone said it was closed. Ezequiel is a very nice guy, and as with many it has been a hard year for him. It is a basic no frills albergue, with many beds in the room, but for the price it's good, and as I said, helping a guy like Ezequiel is well worth it to stay. Plenty of bars, a supermarket, etc all within a few blocks.

Very basic albergue, the

Very basic albergue, the woman at check in was very sweet and patient with my poor spanish. Small kitchen with a microwave. There is a coffee machine and they offered some muffins to go in the morning.

Can be tricky to find of this

Can be tricky to find of this is your first time. I would suggest Google maps which will take you straight to. It, left once over the main bridge. Accommodation very clean, can be busy so getting a shower is queued, but 15mins and there done. 5 mins from town centre, cafe and restaurant next door, so don't have to go far. Clean sheets and nice and warm after a long track.
