Camino de Invierno app

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino de Invierno app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Highly recommended

This was one of the best places we stayed at! The host spread out Pilgrims among the bedrooms for a less crowded feel - thank you so much for that. The facilities were clean and the staff very helpful. 3 showers and 2 toilets were enough for the 8 Pilgrims staying there that day. The best part - the pilgrim meal was huge and very tasty and available through the afternoon and evening - highly recommended!! When you get to town, stop by the little pilgrim shop to check in - the same person runs the albergue! We would definitely stay here again.

I was confused

Funny thing about using multiple apps, there can be different addresses. This app had the correct address. When you get past the church, it's a left on the roundabout. You'll be distracted by the albergue sign directly in front, but it's to the left. The outside looked just like the picture here on this app. So, it wastotally me being confused, but, I figured someone else might be, too

Lovely stay

Friendly staff and a hearty pilgrim dinner in a beautiful little village. Would go there again!

Very nice albergue

Enjoyed staying here. Very friendly and helpful people. The rooms and the beds are nice and clean. There are two showers at the same level as the rooms and two bathrooms a floor below. The dinner was very good. The bar across the road opens early for a quick breakfast. Thanks.

Just lovely

Lovely people, super village and beautiful surroundings. Meal in the bar next door and breakfast available at the village shop. Cheap, comfortable and friendly. 👍🏻👍🏻

Amazing food!

We had one of our best dinners at this Albergue! Chicken soup. Pork ribs in a delicious sauce! Sooooo good. Highly recommend this stop. Quiet little town.

A welcome stop!

The hostel is run by the people that run the Camino shop. They let me check in soon after 12. Food was good, nice atmosphere. It is basic, the showers were hot but definitely needed repair! I’d still recommend the place. You can get a morning cuppa at 7am when the shop opens before starting up Alto del perón.

Great stop

The climb kicked my butt on a super hot day I was going to go past this place but stopped and they were very helpful with my heat exposure. I felt like passing out and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Met awesome people here.

Still closed as of March 12 ‘24

If you are hiking out of the high season, call to make sure they are open. I tried to make a booking for March 13 and no one answers the phone and on Google. It says they are temporarily closed. There is no lodging open between Ciudad Menor and Uterga

Really nice

Really nice and clean albergue! The owner is at the Pilgrim shop directly at the camino, so you have to go there when you arive.

Great meal, crowded rooms

We loved the dinner here (salad, delicious chicken, dessert, wine). Staff was friendly. But the rooms are very small and crowded with bunkbeds, and no air circulation. Only 2 toilets and 2 showers shared across all guests.

Excellent

Excellent place, very warm and welcoming staff, best food so far on the Camino.

28. April 2023 - 13:36

April 27, still 15€

The proprietor, Pedro, was accommodating. A filling pilgrims’ dinner was served with a choice 3 entrées & desserts, a basket of fresh bread, choice of soup or salad, and, of course, vino tintó. The salad option was big and fresh. My husband said the same of the soup.
Be patient with the courses timing as Pedro single-handedly serves all of the guests.
The albergue has 3 showers on the sleeping floor and 2 toilets on the floor below.

More than expected

My first day out of Pamplona in the hottest day. I was overheated and felt awful so I stayed here. Very nice place, great shower and they have washing machine. This was great as I drenched

Very friendly hosts

The hosts of this albérgue also run the local shop which is where you check in. They were so friendly and helpful, the dinner was wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay here.

I agree with the other

I agree with the other comments and would give this albergue a passing grade. The only real downside is the feeling of “crowdedness” and loud talking bouncing off the walls. That said, the place is clean and well run and well located for those wanting to take a break before the last push over the hill. I wouldn’t stay here again if I could figure out how to avoid it, but you could do worse than here.

We tried making a reservation

We tried making a reservation via email and ‘what’s app’ but they take phone reservations only.

Was thrilled to stop here for

Was thrilled to stop here for second breakfast before the steep climb of the day. Lovely friendly service and good coffee. Also the small shop was open selling fresh fruit and snacks. Gorgeous town with amazing views, wish I’d been able to stop here and stay the night!
