Casa Tia Teresa

Manolo is a great host who is a great cook that takes a lot of pride in his dishes. We ordered the vegetable cream soup, slow cooked beef ribs and mixed salad. He also gave us a special cheese and jamon breaded dish to replace the ham croquette he didn't have. The ribs were soft and fell off the bone. Manolo also joked a lot with us 🤣. Everything would be five stars but as Singaporeans who isn't use to the cold, we found the room a bit too cold for us. There is a heater in the room that I'm sure is warm enough for everyone else, but we aren't use to cold weather. Shared Bathroom is clean. Rooms are clean but a little cramped if you have a big luggage.

Stayed at an Albuergue just before here but it didn’t have food. Food here fresh and delicious.my quarter chicken was moist and fell off the bone. Salad cold and crisp. Very nice couple who do this.

The hosts were incredibly welcoming. Despite a language barrier, a shared love of good food bonded my husband and the owner for life. Great shower.

We didn't stay at this Pension but oh my goodness the food was amazing!

We had the mixed salad for lunch which was absolutely delicious. We returned for dinner and had the squid, potato and salad which was so tender and tasty. We were really full but managed to share the home made cheesecake. I want to relocate to Salceda just to try rest of the menu!

As a Pilgrim who started at St Jean we've noticed a change in the hospitality we have received since Sarria. This Albergue/restaurant does not disappoint.

Midway between Arzua and O Pedrouzo, this pleasant place is worth crossing the highway for. The hosts are very nice and the food is excellent.

The grilled lamb chops at Casa Tia Teresa were tender and flavorful. I didn’t even mind the ubiquitous French fries they were resting on. If I weren’t so full I would have also tried the large salad that went to another table. Good food!

The couple that run this Pension put their heart and soul into making their guests happy.
When I ordered dinner the Señor told me, ‘No, that’s not what you want, you want the fish’. Never argue with the chef!
It was the most delicious fish I’ve ever had, hands down. Cooked and seasoned perfectly.
Yes, the walls are thin (showers are loud) and the man is a little awkward per American standards, but in my opinion one of the best stays in El Camino.

I did not sleep here but this was one of the best meals I’ve had in 30 days. I had pork knuckle and it fell off the bone. The chicken was also very good.

Rooms very old. You can hear everything in this house - kitchen, air conditioner, people on other rooms, bathrooms and toilets.
Clean and spacious private rooms.
Food above average and very tasty. Kitchen is open from 6am but no breakfast was served the day of my departure (at 6.45am)

Zwischenzeitlich wurde unsere Buchung  von der Unterkunft storniert, ich gehe mal davon aus, dass das Geld zurück bezahlt wird

Im Doppelzimmer ist ein sehr stechender Geruch wegen einem Diffusor gegen Mücken. Eine Übernachtung war mir wegen Allergie auf dieses Mittel nicht möglich. Obwohl wir um 16:30 Uhr weiter mussten,  waren die Vermieter nicht bereit, uns die Kosten zurück zu erstatten, falls Sie das Zimmer noch vermieten können.  Wir hatten bei Booking.com gebucht, das Geld wurde vor unserer Anreise abgebucht.

Stay here after a whole rainy day. The owner is really funny and nice person. Pork knuckle and beer is delicious.

We checked-in and had a nice lunch. Went to our room and dogs in the building directly behind the pensión barked continuously. Unbelievable!

Rooms are clean and tidy with shared bathroom. Owners are lovely, though when busy they can come across as brusque, but trust me, they are lovely. Upon leaving they filled my water bottle with water and ice as it was a hot day AND drew my portrait in my coffee.

Oh, and the bar across the road had the best steak on the whole Camino! Thank me later.

Such a nice place to stop. Many pilgrims blow by here since there isn’t much of a town. They have local beer brewed by a friend and the some of my favorite food of the entire Camino. They put great pride in the food.
Rooms are clean and functional. The hospitaleros are friendly and love to joke around. Beer is gone for the season, but check next year.
