Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Very, very good stay

Best dinner so far (cooked by a lovely Italian lady), welcoming, clean and laundry and dryer are there to use. Most homely feeling on the Camino!

Lovely stay!

Had a wonderful time at Izarra! The hosts are gracious and love all things Camino! The meals are home cooked, and they will take allergies/restrictions into consideration. When the weather is nice, there is an optional walk to a nearby overlook where you can watch the sun set into the ocean. Highly recommend this albergue!

Must Stay

Do not skip this place! Nice and clean, they even do the washing! When you come in they have your name on a cup and they prepare a nice pilgrim meal. Haven’t come across much Camino spirit Albergues, but this is one of them.

Surpreendente, ótima experiência

Excelente experiência a hospedagem oferecida, com muita simpatia, atenção a detalhes, cordialidade, eficiência.

So glad I kept going…

I found Santillana so busy and decided to walk further to this hostel where I was warmly greeted by the hosts, including a dog and two cats. The place was clean and the vibe was so welcoming. We had an amazing dinner and then walked to nearby cliffs to watch the sunset (the dog and cats came too!). I will never forget my stay!

Best. Alburgue. Ever!

Absolutely the best, most personable hosts. Created a wholesome, family-like atmosphere with us guests. Difficult to leave such a lovely place. Stay here if you want a full heart (and tummy- the food was great!)

New ownership

Under new ownership I think, run by a woman called Guilia who is a real gem. This is one of the best donativos in the del norte, although it was fully booked so good to plan in advance. Guilia believed in the spirit of the Camino and provides a great home cooked dinner and breakfast. She even washed and dried our laundry for free which was much appreciated! Good bar a few minutes down the street.

He offers dinner at night at 8pm and breakfast at 6:30am. 20 beds. Clean and comfortable. He speaks little English but is friendly. Plenty of lines to hang clothes but (as usual) not enough clothes pins (which is why I brought safety pins on the Camino. A life saver). Plenty of lounge chairs for hanging out on the patio in back.

Santiago, the hospitalero, is extremely kind and generous. He opened his albergue for me to take a rest day after catching the stomach flu, and kept making sure I was okay and offering me tea. He fed us a beautiful meal for dinner, and a quick breakfast before the pilgrims left. I HIGHLY suggest staying here if given the chance.

Wonderful

The host, Alejandro, was thoughtful in the way he treated us and in the way he has set up the Albergue. Lamps at each bunk, charging station for phones, nice sheets and comforters, and most of all CLEAN. Very clean and nicely decorated. Comfortable beds. And a living room like area on the lower floor giving out onto a paved garden with table and chairs. My favorite place so far (except the expensive hotel in Castro-Uridales)
