CONFIRMED BED BUGS 24/07/26

I woke up at midnight with a bed bug on my shirt, then saw several more on the mattress. I immediately took my stuff outside and woke my dad up. My dad spent 30 min in the dark confirming that they were bed bugs, including taking video evidence. As an additional note, the hospitaleros seemed the least concerned of any hospitaleros we have encountered on the Camino about the welfare of the pilgrims. We would encourage you to inspect the mattress before you commit to staying there. We ended up spending 3 hrs washing, drying, and cleaning everything in our packs in the next town.

Still bed bugs

I was about to check in when I was told that someone had found bed bugs the night before. I found somewhere else to stay to avoid the bugs!

Bed bugs

Only after arrival I checked the comments. And next the mattress and room for bed bugs. I could not find any signs of them but then also did not really know what to look for. I also asked the owner and he said they had taken care of the bugs. At night the creatures were crawling all over the place. So unfortunately they are still there..

Lovely atmosphere

Very friendly hospitalero. Wholesome communal meal which started with a prayer led by the 84 year old owner. Breakfast from 6.30, fresh buttered toast served by the owner.

Begs :(

After a hot hard day of walking, it was a relief to find an open albergue right upon entering town, but it’s not worth it.

Took a nap and woke up with lots of bites, looked at bed and saw a bed bug. My 2 friends and I packed up immediately, and they tried to blame us saying we probably brought them in, and then suggested we stay in a different room.

Needless to say, we fled and are drying and drying and drying everything!!

Still tons of be bugs

The garden is lovely, and the guy who welcomed us was nice although he didn't speak a word of English. But when I woke up I saw 3 live bedbugs in my bed, when I took the cover off I saw a bloodstain on the mattress, everything was super filthy, I don't think they've cleaned the place in years. Wouldn't sleep there again even if they pay me. Avoid

Incredible place

The staff was so generous and full of love.
The evening was filled with singing, laughing, guitar playing and drums.
Everyone ate together and got to know each other.

The true spirit of the Camino.

A long established al argue which exemplifies all that is best about the Camino. The evening meal was wholesome and generous.

Art objects decorate every wall and service. The staff are kind and have a great generosity of spirit.

Bedbugs

This place does have bedbugs and I don't think they will be gone anytime soon. It's really a shame because it's one really great albergue. The owners totally know about it because they make you store backpacks in a different room.

Lots of bed bugs.

Bedbugs

I am sorry to write this, but I went there today and found a big and living bedbug on the first bed I checked. The host offered to sleep in another room, I refused and got my money back without any problems. The place looks very great and special and it is sad that it still struggles with bedbugs.

Bed bugs

Went to stay there a couple of days ago, got to our room and unrolled my bed sheet and dead bed bug rolled out. Spoke to the host and got our money back. Some pilgrims that stayed woke up with bites.

The hosts are lovely, but the whole place is a bit dirty and threadbare. It needs a damn good clean.

Great vibe, but must avoid - bed bugs

I really liked the hosts and the vibe, so it pains me to say this, but absolutely avoid this place. 4 people in my room, myself included, woke up with dozens of bed bug bites. Deeply unpleasant.

If you do stay here, take an upper bunk and sleep in a silk liner, as the bugs are near the floor.

A unique experience

We had a great stay at this facility in early March. The dormitories and the dining room were heated. It’s a unique place and has served Pilgrims for decades. It is a landmark on the Camino. Your experience here will be the same as Pilgrims had before the Camino was really commercialized. If you want privacy and modern accommodations and lots of electrical outlets, then this is not the facility for you.

There is a choice of male,

There is a choice of male, female or mixed showers & bathrooms. The mixed ones look like they have recently been refurbished & definitely not the worst on the camino or a disaster, they are quite nice . The women’s could do with a refresh

Actual cost is 6€ for a bed

Actual cost is 6€ for a bed or 5€ if you pay an additional 4€ for breakfast (which I found a bit shifty since it will never be 5 which is what they advertise everywhere.) Dinner was 7€ and was decent but scant in portion and dessert was canned fruit. It was served 45 minutes late but I might have experienced an unlucky night in that regard. Dorm beds are very close and in some instances just pushed together. The staff running it are lovely and the *rustic* building and haphazard functioning are in some regards probably the most authentic Camino experience you can have in these days of art hostel albergues with vegan dinners and fresh smoothies. It wasn’t a bad stay but neither would I necessarily recommend it.
