A tiny hamlet on the road between the Sierra de Atapuerca and Cardeñuela Riopico. No services. The landscape here is open farmland, and Burgos is beginning to make its presence felt on the horizon.

Water fountain by little river with benches operational. Can refill water here. Have to step on a button on pavement to activate water. Most people miss left turn to VillaVal after coming from alto de atapierca and end up bypassing VillaVal.

A very small town with only a few houses, some of which are abandoned. No shops, no vending machine, no toilet facilities, and no water fountain.
There is a small river as you leave town but it is not drinkable. There is also a water fountain by this river but it has been secured shut so not usable.
A begger was at the exit of the town asking Pilgrims for money.
