Services

A small village with a church, an ermita, and a truck-stop restaurant with a reputation for decent hot chocolate — a combination that sounds unlikely but works. The albergue is the first house you reach coming into town, and the hospitaleros are welcoming.

Not much to detain you otherwise, but the hot chocolate has earned a following.

History:

The town takes its current name from Francisco Delgado López, a native son who served as Bishop of Jaén and Lugo and was one of the most respected Counter-Reformation theologians at the Council of Trent. Before that, the village was known as Villa de Pun.

Inner Camino Donativo

The Inner Camino casa rural and Bar donativo is so amazing! Delicious food and drinks that you prep yourself in their beautiful kitchen. Relax with a view of the little church, or inside the very comfy living room. This place is a joyful surprise!

Truck stop is great!

Yes to the hot chocolate, but also just in general. A clean shop with good bocadillos, clean restrooms with soap and towels, outdoor patio, friendly staff. Fine stop for breakfast.

Very Good choice

What a gem! Restful gardens in the back. Washing machine or hand wash. Fabulous clothesline across the road in the sunshine and breeze. Meal was delicious and homemade. Vegetable soup, stewed beef and boiled potatoes. Not fries.
The Albergue is so clean.
Highly recommend.

A gem of an albergue...

Oh boy, what a wee gem this place is. Excellent hosts. Spotless rooms and beds. Beautiful garden out the back. An older house recently refurbished and updated. I could honestly stay a week. Highly, highly recommended.

Great truck stop restaurant “El Chocolatero”

Generous and delicious menú del día for 15 €. It’s 100 meters off the Camino across the highway. It was full of people (truckers, pilgrims, and locals) and yet the service was quick and smiling.
