Camino del Norte App

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Ferry to Santona

Does anyone know if the ferry still runs all day at the end of September?

8. September 2026 - 9:10

The Ferry

When you get to Tiburón restaurant, at the tip of Laredo, go to the left, down the wood bridge, into the sand, you’ll see a 10’ pole stuck in the sand, that’s where the boot is landing, go there and wait for your ride.
The Ferry runs continuously about every 10-15 minutes. It cost me €2. And I rode across at about 5:30 pm on September 7, 2026.

Ferry

The ferry spot is quite close to where “Barco de Puntal de Laredo” is shown on Google maps. The boat will just pull up on the sand. Operated from 9-14:30 during the season (about April to September). Cost was €3.50 and well worth it.

Ferry lands directly on the beach

Don’t worry if you don’t find a proper ferry terminal or quay - the ferry just folds out a boardwalk and you can step on it directly from the beach! Cost is 2 Euros.
