Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Vía de la Plata app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Services

A tiny village on a long flat stretch between Fuente de Cantos and Zafra. A bar and basic supplies. The Iglesia de El Salvador has a Mudejar tower worth a glance.

The Camino:

Pass straight through Calzadilla and pick up the farm track once again. It returns to the road but only for 500m before it turns left sharply away from the road to return to farm tracks all the way to Puebla de Sancho Pérez, passing the Arroyo Atarja (4.7km).

Munivipal Albergue

This albergue only offers 14 beds now, all singles, no bunks.
They provide sheets and blankets. The kitchen included a washing machine free of charge plus toaster and microwave with a fridge.
Excellent conditions all for €10

Rodriguez is fine

It is a truck stop by the main road.

Zero atmosphere but clean, safe - and a private room for €15 is no bad thing!!

I have stayed in far nice albergues but there is no reason to avoid this.

The municipal I could not get into: no one at the ajuntsmiento, they did not answer the phone. I did not fancy a 4km trip, so I took a chance on here despite the bad reviews. And it was fine.

Very nice albergue de peregrinos.

Staying here tonight 12/11/2022. It is located right next to the Eremita de Nuestra Senora de La Encarnacion about 300 metres behind the Ayuntamiento/town hall. €8 per night. Not very well signposted.

I'm staying here right now

I'm staying here right now due to an injury. Very clean private room for 10€ with view to fields. Friendly staff, but I made the effort to speak some basic Google Spanish which is definitely appreciated. Room even has a sink as well. Shared bathroom but looks clean.
