Pereje is a small village in the Valcarce valley with a bar and an albergue. The walking is flat, following the river upstream. The valley narrows as you progress, with the mountains closing in on both sides.

Great coffee, delicious tostada, super friendly. So happy to see this cheerful oasis after early departure from Villafranca.

So glad as we’re walking through today to find the bar open. Nice, shady, relaxing place to sit and have a cold drink.

Look to the left and you will see tables and chairs. The little restaurant is across the little road from there. Drinks and snacks are available.

This town should be deleted as a rest stop. There is nothing in this town except for a drinking fountain and you have to find it! Skip. Keep walking and don’t spend time entering the town then back to the same road.
