Scenic view of Boadilla del Camino on the Camino Aragonés

Boadilla del Camino

Camino Aragonés

BOADILLA DEL CAMINO ON BOOKING.COM

The fields around Boadilla are dotted with adobe palomares — traditional dovecotes. Find your way to one and explore the interior: thousands of small niches line the walls, each designed for a pair of pigeons. The birds were kept for their droppings (used as fertilizer) as much as for their meat.

Adjacent to the town square is the Romanesque Iglesia de la Asunción and a well-preserved rollo jurisdiccional — a carved stone column that marked the town's judicial authority. It's one of the better-preserved examples on the meseta. A couple of bars and an albergue serve the village.

Fiesta:

San Antonio de Padua is celebrated from June 13 to 15.

The Camino:

The camino leaving Boadilla joins a path alongside the Canal de Castilla, an 18th-century waterway built for both irrigation and transport. You'll follow the canal to the outskirts of Frómista, crossing at one of the locks. It's flat, pleasant walking with water alongside — a novelty on the meseta.

Albergue en el camino

Host Eduardo was wonderful.. Stayed at the Albergue on the 23 of June 2025, all is great except the bunkbed height is a little low, All showers, washbasin are working,
The fantastic part is the pool to soak or jump in to cool your weary feet and cool your body for a refreshing swim on a very hot day…

Hotel En El Camino is a Diamond in the rough

Eduardo runs this hotel, Bar and restaurant and is amazing. He does it all and is extremely thorough and hospitable. Outdoor patio was great to enjoy a drink in the afternoon. Room was nice. The place is modern and fairly new. An oasis in the middle of a town with nothing else to offer. Communal meal with 75 other peregrinos was so much fun. Service was great for so many people.

Juntos Albergue

I don't know why it's not here in the app? Anyway, a pleasant stay. Just opened 16/4. So first day for them for the season. Very family-friendly and the family, who are from Holland, eat dinner with the guests. Nice dormitory, clean and tidy.

Hotel en el Camino

Good food, grumpy server, not much of a Camino vibe in this hotel (my subjective experience)

Hotel el Camino

Just stopped here for a break. No food in evidence, but excellent coffee. The hotel is spotless, and the guy behind the bar quick and friendly. The hotel looks like a good place to stay if you fancy a bit more comfort.

You had us at "all lower bunks."

We'd planned to go on to Formista and stopped here for refreshments. We're so happy we stayed! Lovely, helpful, kind people. We've had some surly servers... I think they're getting overwhelmed with the shear numbers of people traveling the Camino this month/year.
We're loving the vibe here. Very comfortable beds, 22 in this room, upstairs in the hotel. We discovered there are more hostel beds in a separate building.
Our space is new and clean. The Pilgrim dinner €14 and very good! 😌 2 very happy people!

Looks beautiful, but needs work.

On entering the albergue, I was very impressed. It has a beautiful garden and the accommodation is charming and rustic. Less impressive was the fact that only one of the 4 handbasins was working, the holders for the handshowers were both broken and the tubs for handwashing contained many months of leaves and without a water supply, forcing guests to handwash in the only handbasin that worked. Sheets and pillowcases were not supplied, unlike most of the other albergues I've stayed in. There is no kitchen or kettle, so you need to eat in the adjacent hotel, that operates the albergue. There are no shops in the town and the other albergue is closed on Monday and Friday. This could have been a memorable stay, but unfortunately, I will remember it for the wrong reasons.

Last year I stayed in the

Last year I stayed in the Alberque En.el Camino, this year I wanted a private room to be a little safer (or not from Covid) and spent a little more and stayed in the hotel.
As the title suggests they are worlds apart, the menu for the evening meal is the same as last year in the Alberque, tasty and fresh, the interior of the place is beautiful and not as bland as the outside, cool and clean an open terrace filled with flowers has the heat to dry you washing in hours. Good prices for a hotel, treat yourself to a stay and you will not regret it.

Very friendly staff and nice

Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The food is served in 2 rooms, it is cheap plenty and fast, with good vine.
Small rooms with 3 bunk beds.
The garden is a small paradise. Stay here instead of going on to Frómista.

This is one of the cleanest

This is one of the cleanest Albergue I ever stay at, and I’m glad I didn’t to further down to Frómista. The bedroom is spotless clean not a single hair drop on the floor. The host guy are so nice as well.
