Scenic view of Atalaia on the Camino Portugués

Camino Portugués App

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Portugués app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Casa do Patriarca

At 60€ this is highly overpriced. The rooms are ok, but very cold in April and the central heating is off. You do get complimentary 2 slices of dry bread and and apple.

Ponto de Encontro

Ponto de Encontro is a bit off the Camino, but it's definitely worth a visit. They serve strong coffee, delicious pastries, plenty of seating outside and inside if the weather isn't nice. There are toilets. And the owners are incredibly friendly. I definitely recommend it.

"Terraça" Cafe was open!

In the village of Asseiceira the "Terraça" Cafe was open, they served sandwiches, have plenty of drink options and toilettes. The terrace with shade was a welcome change from the burning sun.

Casa das memorias

Stayed in Casa das Memórias in Moita do Norte, on the Camino route two km before Atalaia. The house has four private rooms. Great hosts, all kinds of food available for purchase and otherwise supermarket is not far.

Cafe

I second the comment from Sept 28 2019 about the cafe on the right. We stopped in a few days ago in the way to Tomar. Very friendly and helpful gentleman. Had some good coffee, pastries and we bought a few rolls for the road. Stamped our credentials. Also a good seating area. The location is just past R. Sao-Luis road on the right.
