Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Vía de la Plata app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Une auberge à ne pas manquer

A modern hostel with all the comforts, communal dinner and an attentive hospitalero. An unforgettable farewell evening of Miguel the hospitalier with the village people and the inauguration of Manolo the new hospitalier who arrived with Patchi his wife.

Beautiful, lovingly restored donativo

I had messaged ahead the evening before, concerned that Holy Week would find this albergue packed. The kind volunteer answered me quickly, with reassurance—and exactly right. There were just two of us! Warm welcome. Showers are hot and clean, blankets ample, sunny and windy patio, and very comfy bunks. Washing machine for 2€. I was fortunate to meet a few locals who had just come in from the mountains nearby with a handful of delicious wild asparagus we had with dinner! One of them was a guy who had attended the primary school that this building used to be, in the hey day of the town (50s-60s), who then followed his dream to open it as an albergue.
Give generously if you can. This is a gem in the true Jacobean tradition.
