Casa Antón: charm but not ideal

PLUS:
The place is indeed beautiful, very well decorated, and has a lot of charm. Diego is a very nice host, helpful and keen to share helpful tips.
The bed was extremely comfortable and as other said, bathroom is a tad small, but had all the comfort needed and the extra toilet accessories.

MINUS (which for me made the stay not worth it)
- Late check in: I have found the 3pm check in extremely late (as of 2026 is strictly 3pm)

- Noise: I had the individual room, which has a window literally on the terrace of the next door bar, so terrible smell of cigarette and noise up until 10:30pm. Not ideal for pilgrims life. Had I known about the noise, I wouldn’t have paid 90€ for a night!

The village is definitely worth staying especially for the pilgrim mass and blessings. Even if you’re not religious it is SO worth it. Sad that we have to pay so much (everything else was booked out). The village is small, so it does get booked out.

Lovely room

The room is comfy, very well decorated.
Bathroom/toilet while a bit small has all the amenities of shampoo, soap, dental kit, hair dryer.
Indeed one can only check in by 2.30pm. No one is thete when i arrived early.

Family owned and operated. Very nice room

This is a unique property with private rooms and bathrooms. Room furnishings were very artistic and made of wood. Bed was comfortable and bathroom clean though a bit small.
None of these buildings are large here so that is normal. Check in is 2:30 and they didn’t seem flexible on an early check-in. Diego was very nice and he has very good English language skills.

WONDERFUL STAY OCTOBER 8

This is a strikingly well renovated and decorated hotel. It is beautiful. The best was comfortable. Lovely fireplace greeted people at check in. Angela and Diego have done a fabulous job. I would stay here again.

Visited July 11 - Lots of Bedbugs !!!

We booked a room at this fancy and expensive hotel. We were very excited when we arrived. When my daughter was getting ready to go to bed, she found 6 bedbugs on the sheets and three on the floor. We let the owner know and she said that it was impossible, that our room had been empty for two days and that it must had been us who brought them in. Then she told us she would fumigate the room with this promising chemical. We did end up spending the night there. Did not find bedbugs after the fumigation.

We had no bedbugs prior to checking in and after we left. This goes to show you that even expensive places can have bedbugs.

Heavenly

Hostal Meson Anton is a little bit of heaven at the top of the mountain!

Must stop!

I was not expecting such a great place. Super clean and great staff and the food was the best.

Festival time

The room was very clean, our private bathroom was fine, unfortunately there was no air circulation so pretty steamy after a shower.
Also, with the festival, the people partied until 230am which was nobody’s fault, glad they had fun and our next destination is very close.

Small, but Pleasant

First, it should be noted that it was in the high 90 degrees when we were in O Cebreiro. So, it was virtually impossible to sleep. However, Casa Anton was a pleasant space with very friendly staff. The restaurant downstairs doesn't have a pilgrim menu, but they do have large plates which you cam share, so as long as you're eating with 1 or 2 other people it's a pretty good deal.
