Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Vía de la Plata app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Confusion around fees

This app shows €19, host says booking.com is €23 . WhatsApp number stated in this app is not connected. Clean but i dare say €19 is more than fair to the host

Really Friendly Albergue

Super friendly host that really wants the pilgrims to feel welcome! Near new inside with kitchen, great string bunks, coffee vending machine, PowerPoints near the near new mattresses. Multiple rooms for various numbers/groups. Shop across road for dinner requirements. View to valley. Separate showers and toilets. Happy to recommend.

Seems under new management 2026

This places seems to be under new ownership/management. Comments about poor service an facilities from 2025 and prior no longer apply. The host was very welcoming, a bit overworked due to staff shortage the day we were here. The dorm rooms, linen and bathroom seem clean. The kitchen is equipped for basic cooking.
Coffee machine and various dry goods foods left by previous occupants available.
Lovely lounge/dining room with fab view. The heating is on in the evening. Generally a good stay.

Lsme Don’t

No staff on site. Seems forgotten and like they don’t care: not enough sheets for beds. Broken appliances. Broken lots of things. Not very clean. I’m having trouble sleeping because I’m kind of grossed out. If you don’t want to run an albergue, don’t have an albergue.

Do Not Recommend

No host, no hot water, no heat. Modern and a beautiful location but not impressed.

Do not recommend Stayed 21/09/2024

Had to wait 45 minutes for host to show up and check us in. And then after she was still nowhere to be found. Keep walking to next town. Not very friendly!

Charmless and unfriendly

Arrived in the snow and place v unfriendly and unwelcoming. Heating had broken which they didn’t mention and didn’t apologise about when we asked. The most unfriendly place on the Camino.

24. April 2024 - 17:27

Excellent

Very good facilities. It's modern and kitchen is well equipped. The shop across the road has more than enough choices to buy something to cook or to reheat. I would highly recommend this albergue

8. August 2023 - 19:10

Very modern

You will have every primary facility here, and the bed is very clean (real sheets!). One thing you need to care about is that there are no restaurants/bars in the area so you have to get some food in the supermarket.

28. June 2023 - 18:04

Purpose built albergue

Like people say, only food option is a small shop With limited supplies nearby .
Room was good.
Shower: yet again nowhere to put anything but least single sex.
If u are handwashing watch out for the nettles, garden and grounds unloved with nettles and weeds everywhere .
There is a washing machine but u have to ask as in locked room.
Great views from the communal room.
Overall a good stay.

3. June 2023 - 20:18

No meals, drinks, or snacks available

There were no food options of any kind at this albergue. We went across the street to a small shop to get cheese, meat, fruit, drinks, and eggs and cooked our meal in the albergue’s community kitchen.

20220501 very clean, you'll need to buy/bring food for dinner

Market nearby, nice kitchen to cook, or call taxi to go to out to eat. This place is clean, and has nice modern showers. Staff was constantly cleaning and very helpful. Good prices.

18. April 2022 - 21:16

No host

If you're just looking for a place to rest your head, this is ok. If you'd like something cozy, charming keep walking. I never met the host

2. April 2022 - 19:15

great

really nice place. comfortable, warm, very quiet. recommend if you want a place to stay away from o cebrerio. the 3 km extra were worth it. there are no restaurants nearby but there is a supermarket across the street and a kitchen.

Everything here that a, hostal should have. Great kitchen to cook as there is no food in town. Shop across road has good stock. Super clean and you get sheets pillow case blankets. really hot good showers
Nice views of the mountains. Loved it. .

18/8/19 Really nice, new

18/8/19 Really nice, new albergue! Plugs by each bed, comfy beds, nice bedding with a big wool blanket. There’s a small sitting area with a tv, and a kitchen with a stove, microwave, and fridge. Huge yard overlooking the valley. There’s a coffee machine and vending machine as well. The store across the street is small but has some good ingredients to make dinner. There’s nothing in the town really but I’m glad I stayed here and avoided the crowds in O Cebreiro.

20. June 2019 - 20:09

I highly recommend this

I highly recommend this Albergue, friendly, clean and well run. No food nearby but a well stocked tienda across the road or taxi back to O’C for dinner.

I must praise this place due

I must praise this place due to its owner who went above and beyond to help me. I had a reservation here, but due to a couple issues (primarily trouble finding allergy-safe food in the market) I had to move on. First, the host forgave my obligation to pay for the room I reserved. Second, on my behalf she told Jacotrans that I had moved ahead and asked them to bring my bag to Fonfría. Third , when Jacotrans insisted on leaving the bag with her in Liñares, she called the albergue in Fonfría so I would know what happened and then took a cab to Fonfría to deliver my bag personally!!!! What amazing generosity. She refused any payment from me, and was simply happy to help.
