Spiritual time-out

It was lovely to meet these hosts who welcome you into their home and feed you like extended family. From a time under-appreciated these days, your hosts see their vocation as pilgrims to have evolved into supporting pilgrims. „My pilgrimage is to make your pilgrimage better“ doesn’t mean that they see the relationship as transactional, they are more oriented to provide aid and advice for those undergoing a transformative experience. The genuine sense of connection and openness to sharing their home feels like a page out of a good pilgrimage narrative, a point of punctuation in your Camino story. Stay here if you need a nudge in the right direction.

A wonderful piece of heaven on the Camino trail

I read reviews and wanted to try this place. After a pretty long walk from Najera, I opened the Albergue door to the sound of soft sittar music and the aroma of soothing incense. There is an atmosphere here, unrushed, peaceful, reflective, and calming. I am glad I came as part of my camino journey.

Refugio Acacio y Orietta

The best albergue I’ve stayed in. Orietta was a wonderful hostess. The atmosphere was relaxing and ambiance just superb. The albergue was clean and with a hint of burning wood Orietta prepared a wonderful meal of potato broccoli soup, rice, and beans. Also a nice fresh salad. Orietta sent us off in the morning with a mint as a parting gift. The whole experience was amazing.

Loved this place

Wonderful stay. So nicely setup. Loved the sitting area and dorm set up. Twin beds were a wonderful plus! The hosts are so friendly and Camino experienced. They met on the Camino. She cooked one of my favorite meals along the trail. Yummy!! They sit and talk and eat with you as well. This is a must stop.

If you get a chance to stay here I highly recommend it. It is the best albergue yet! It was warm, dry, comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Orietta and Acacia are genuine people. I wish I could have stayed for more than one night. Thank you for your hospitality.

This was a fantastic place to call home for the evening. Acacia and Orietta are phenomenal individuals and truly do live to serve those of us on the way. From their company at dinner, after dinner conversations, to the breakfast waiting for us after a wonderful nights rest, we felt welcome and cared for in all areas of rest.

Acacio and Orietta are

Acacio and Orietta are pilgrims themselves and run this albergue about 15 years.
When you enter the house, you smell the incense and hear the soft music. Here you can rest, read something, having a tea or a chat. Orietta makes a lovely meal and together you share the dinner, while talking about your experiences, questions and stories. Communal breakfast is at 7.
I can recommend this special experience!
