Warm welcome

I was greeted by a smiling face and a glass of cold water. This Albergue is run by a very friendly Italian couple. The garden is inviting and there is a pool of cold water to bathe your tired feet. My private room for 40€ was a bit disappointing. No towels or private shower. I requested a vegan meal, which was made without a fuss and was very tasty. The lunchtime snack of tomato brochetta was delicious
I would definitely recommend this Albergue.

Wonderful Albergue Run By Lovely Italian Family

What a gem . The photo shown with this is not San Bruno building. The moment you walk through the front gate into the garden, you feel welcomed. Slept up stairs with beds , single , and under a gorgeous wooden ceiling . Delicious Italian dinner , many lounging chairs in the garden . Would stay again in a Heartbeat

San Bruno

Do yourself a favour! Delicious dinner, beautiful garden setting. Feet cooling fountain, solid bunks, clean bathrooms. Very accommodating hosts. Highly recommended. M.G. Australia

Beds

If you don’t enjoy sleeping then this is the place for you. Be warned, the bunkbeds that are joined as four, when one person moves, you ALL move. Apart from that it’s a nice place. Communal meal was good.

2nd time round

We stayed here two years ago and have been trying to stay at places we haven’t stayed before. This one was not to be missed. It was as good as last time. Such a chilled out place to stay, lovely evening meal and breakfast too.
The village is interesting, very small and well worth a visit

A favorite

This albergue has been one of the nicest to-date on my Camino. The place is charming, the hosts are welcoming, and the dinner was lovely.

Great experience !

Welcoming after my very long day. Lovely garden area under trees with chairs and loungers to sit and relax. Convenient area to do hand washing Bar for drinks! Group dinner at outdoor table was delicious! Loved all the conversations. I was starving after only a croissant all day and I had plenty of food! Pasta, salad, meat, dessert and wine. Hot, clean showers with changing area and place to hang things. Bunk beds sturdy and comfortable. We were on lower floor and could hear some footsteps above but not bad, plus our room was nice and cool on a very hot day. Lovely hosts. Would stay here again.

The BEST salad I’ve ever had

We needed a lunch before walking to Sahagún and this little oasis blew me away. Food and service was amazing. I would eat here regularly if it was in the US.

Not great

My opinion varies a bit from the previous comments. There is a really great outdoors area to hang out at, and the host was very welcoming. The dinner was very good, but portions were not close to enough and I’m in bed hungry. The bed pads are an awful excuse for a mattress and so thin your hips sink right through to the wooden frame. It’s an extra €2 if you want disposable sheets. If you have top bunk you can lift your head and stare into the eyes of your neighbor. And upstairs noise is loud right above your head.

Not great if you want a quiet private room

I stayed in a (the?) private room and it’s right off the lovely garden with sun loungers which means you may have people sitting right outside your room talking loudly, playing music etc. That wouldn’t bother some but if you want quiet to take a nap or you aren’t well and need to rest it won’t be ideal for you.

Washing was €6 euros to wash and €6 to dry which I thought was a bit much.

I didn’t have dinner as the vegetarian option didn’t seem worth the money.

Best dinner so far

This is a ‘must’ place to stay. The hosts are lovely, the meal was absolutely amazing & gave me memories off Tuscany last year. There is a fountain in the graced courtyard which is wonderful for tired aching feet. For 5 euro all my washing was done & the Italian coffee in the morning was a great way to start the day. Highly recommend a stay here.

Loved San Bruno

This albergue is perfect for a quiet stay with a lovely Italian family - dinner was delicious. Pietro the hospitalero was terrific, he was the meal host and a lot of fun!

Great outside space, foot cooling fountain and sun lounges in the garden.

But, showers were not hot, not even warm. Not sure of the problem, all 5 of us had disappointing showers. 😖

Friendly hosts and nice place but a number of issues

Dorm very cold feel, no paper towels to dry hands in WC or hand soap, no paper bed sheets, 12€ for pilgrims meal, food bland and very small portions, not good when you need the walking calaries, wasnt worth 12€

Lovely friendly homely

Lovely friendly homely atmosphere, a good menu with lots of pasta. Pod bed system gives privacy. Garden is a joy. Consider going the extra distance for this albergue.

Hosts were friendly and

Hosts were friendly and helpful, bunk room had lots of windows for ventilation, and bathrooms were plentiful. Communal dinner was fine, though not what was promised due to one vegetarian arriving after us. They should serve their expected meal and create a veggie portion for their guests on restricted diets. I was clearly disappointed with the spaghetti with tomato sauce. Otherwise, a great experience! Loved the foot pool!

We wanted a quiet place with

We wanted a quiet place with a private room for two and private bath after a 30km day and found it in this Albergue. Extremely accommodating hosts with our late arrival, fixing a separate meal for us. Nice accommodations, not fancy but a lot of special touches. Strongly recommend this Albergue.
