The woman running the Albergue is lovely and I heard the private rooms are very nice. Take a look at the dorm before deciding if you want to stay there.

Dormitory directly on the outside. No heating or insulation. Extremely cold. Had to sleep fully clothed. Not even a basin for a foot wash! In short, I made a bad choice!

This is an Albuergue with on site Bar/restaurant and with dorms And private rooms. No official Communal dinner. No cooking. I thought it was fine, clean and had everything you need but I agree that the vibe wasn’t as friendly as in other places. Still a solid choice for one night. Tip: walk up about 15 minutes from the town. To get the best sunrise views…not from the top at the Iron Cross.

Que la chimenea funcione, que haya alguien en recepción para recibirte, que haya un sofá en el lobby o comedor, que haya baños y duchas cerca de las habitaciones y no tengas que salir bajo la lluvia y el frío para usar el baño.

Very comfy and clean although we were in a private room so can’t speak to other areas. Our room was also so cute, warm shower and towels. Hosts are wonderful, welcoming and friendly.

Clean & comfy. But in the night a homeless man snuck in and slept on the floor in between our dorm and bathroom in the middle of the night, after the first people left at 5:30am he snuck into one of their beds!?! Felt very uncomfortable, we packed up and left as fast as the sun came out.

The most basic I’ve stayed so far and overpriced. Dirty bathroom and very cold shower. Room dark and basic, no room to move and put your bags. Don’t often leave negative reviews but felt I had to for this one. Also staff unfriendly ☹️

The albergue area is about as basic as it gets. Three rooms face a central courtyard. In each room are three bunk beds. They are arranged in a way that it is very difficult to access the third bunk (lucky me). There is one electric outlet in the room with a six plug extension cord connected. There is one bathroom for each six person pod. The bathroom can accommodate one person at a time (toilet, shower, and sink all in the same room. There is wifi, but coverage is weak and does not extend into the bunk rooms. There is ample hand washing facilities (2 sinks plus drying lines). Management will do a load in the washing machine for 5€. No automatic dryer available.

Very very unfriendly host!

Not a great place to stay, only 1 shower and 1 toilet die al the beds…. 🙈 and very cold…
21. May 2023 - 16:02
The photo on this app is of a different building entirely. The beds and everything are okay. 1 shower and 2 toilets for all the guests to share is difficult, but the shower was nice and had a chair in it. One of the bathrooms is very accessible. All of the food options are overpriced and the croquetas i had were still frozen on the inside. Wish i would have been at the donativo

Staff were friendly, and there's a nice little courtyard. There was just one shower for our 6-bed unit, but it wasn't a problem at all. Good value for the money here.

Foncebadon is a great place to stay. It's a recovering town that gives you quick access to the Cruz Ferro the next morning. Druida is a pretty basic albergue, but only has one shower and toilet in the bathroom. So be prepared for long lines if you get there late. Absolutely get the pizza in town. It's great!

Recommend avoiding the dorms in cool weather. They are uncomfortably cold and the staff would not turn on the heat for us. You also have to go outside to use the toilet and shower.

I booked a private room to reflect before Cruz de Fero. The Alburgue is fantastic. Good meal of the day, charming hosts and after the walk from Astorga, a welcomed place to lay your head.

Sept 2020.
Wonderfully revamped Albergue. Added a restaurant and it all feels very clean and welcoming.
11. September 2020 - 18:15
The dorm was clean and really cool, which was nice after a hot day of walking in 30+ degrees. Spacious and clean room with three bunk beds and one bathroom to share. Good place to stay!

Nice new facility with a bar and a restaurant. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, not usual for these parts. Rooms were 2 bunks to a room and a bath in the room that was roomy and clean. I’ve traveled the whole Camino and this is by far the best cleanest facility. (. Small thing. wifi was lacking but probably for the best).

Good albergue. But no hot water when I was there. Water was warm/cold.
