Best stop in all 5 weeks

This was the highlight of our del norte/ Primitivo Camino. It really gave us such a wonderful experience and the Only one to offer proper protein. They even went out and bought gluten free bread for me. I loved the family and the way they cared for us. Beautiful. I honestly felt like this gave us that Camino experience i'd been missing. I hope they start taking pre payment as a bunch of people booked and skipped letting a lot of people who wished coming there miss out on it and taking two nights in Lugo instead. This was the perfect pitstop/ rest stop for us. Highly recommended.

Must stay here!

If you can’t plan to make this a stop for the night at least stop in for a drink.

They did a really nice reno, kept the old charm and mixed it with modern.

Super nice setting, family run. We stayed in a private room, it was perfect. The kitchen is one of the best on the camino so far. We didn’t use it because the only supermarket on the way was closed, it was Sunday. It’s fine cause we had a communal diner which was far better than my cooking!

I’d definitely be back and
highly recommend.

Wow! Great place.

Oh my gosh this place is gorgeous. Amazing building and grounds but the owner and his wife are fabulous. Fantastic pilgrims dinner, plenty of wine and liqueur and dancing! Dancing depending on your fellow pilgrims of course! So glad I stopped here, and a short day to Lugo tomorrow so I can explore in the afternoon.

A cut above ! 5 stars’⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Beautiful Albergue in all respects might i suggest forgetting a rest day in Lugo and rest here instead. Short walk the next day gives you time to explore the city. This is clean , modern, bucolic! Really special.

Most amazing albuerge you’ll see

This place is awesome! Both the rooms and the dorm look amazing and have a fantastic atmosphere. The family is really pleasant and helpful, and their three meal course is both delicious and plenty. To me, this place is a must for a stayover!

A truly fabulous Camino experience, home cooked food, ample portions, delicious and wholesome.
The Albergue is out of this world,an experience not to be missed.
If you can go that bit further and get a private room the stay will be complete, total boutique stay for a very reasonable price, don't miss this place if at all possible!

Best albergue

Probably the best albergue on the road so far. Nice hosts and the rooms are exclusive, giving a tropical vibe. Showers, laundry, excellent kitchen. Beds are comfortable.
Really enjoyed my stay.

Lovely family-run albergue

We ended up with a private room which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. David at reception was delightful and spoke English well. The meal was delicious and they offered wine as part of the meal along with homemade liquor. The laundry facilities were great (4 euros each for washing and drying. Lovely family feeling location but a little more expensive. Worth the expense to us.

Fabulous!

This albergue is, so far, our best stay at any camino. We stayed in one of the private rooms, but had friends that stayed at the dorm. Both situations have very nice interior and the bunks have curtains for privacy.
The garden is a nice place to relax in hammocks or hanging chairs, while you can observe the rural life around you.
Don't miss the chance to be part of the communal dinner which was very tasty and with beef from the familys own butcher shop in Lugo. All in all a very pleasant stay that will start in our memories for a long time 🥰

Amazing ❤️

The reviews speak for themselves, so I was expecting something nice , but this family, this Albergue, the love for the Pilgrims is more than outstanding. My seventh Camino and I can’t think of any that come up to this standard. Lovely welcoming family , the most gorgeous lounges , yes two lounges , the dorm that is very spacious, huge modern kitchen , most relaxing garden of hanging chairs , loungers , hammocks , amongst trees , flowering shrubs , fruit trees . Then dinner , OMG . Four courses , abundance of food , delicious and red and white wine . Then three different bottles of liquors bought to the table . Breakfast also and included in two wines and snacks when we arrived, the total cost was only 40 € per person . For everything. Highly recommend.

A magical place

It’s probably not in my own self-interest to say so, but this is a must stay. True, it’s a premium product at a premium price but, in my view, it’s totally worth it. The atmosphere, the people, the level of facilities are more than enough to justify the slightly higher cost. The magic of the Camino is here!

#1 Albergue

Do yourself a favor and spend a night here! Food is amazing, you'll meet other pilgrims easily, great place to relax, and it breaks up the walk from O Cádavo to Lugo wonderfully. Pepe and Fina are amazing hosts! Can't recommend this place enough.

Incredible

Amazing, incredible Albergue, the best I encountered on the del norte and Primitivo. My understanding from staying here is that the owners don’t want to be too heavily advertised in Camino guides, as they want to be a tourist accommodation, and not a pilgrims accommodation. Probably helped that they are a very short stage from o cadavo and Castroverde. For me it was great- 34km (9 hours) from fonsagrada (pineiral) and then 15km to Lugo to enjoy the afternoon there.

22. September 2021 - 21:39

Do the extra kilometres!!!

This was such an exceptional place to stay! It’s so worth the extra kilometres! A family run Albergue full of character and the entire family make you feel so welcome and comfortable! Great food! Amazing rooms to stay whether private or dormitory! Washer and dryer available for additional euros! Really recommend an amazing place for some rest and relaxation and a lovely environment!
