We had booked and arrived today, but the place seemed closed. It looked like they were renovating in the windows. Call ahead to check if you have this booked. Alternatively the municipal is just next door and is pretty good.

Antonio was such a great host and keen to help. Well spaced beds, we were 5 to a room with a shared bathroom. Facilities were clean. Handwashing or machine wash clothes and kitchen. Had a good night sleep 😊

Although a bit tricky to find, O Apalpador is a sweet change from the more common ‘bursting with bunks’ hostels. Only 5 beds, only women, which was also a nice treat. Worth the hunt!!

The owner is so sweet. He clearly wants every pilgrim to feel at home. Lots of sweet touches around the place (signing book, an explanation of why he started an albergue). Each bed had a shelf and power and lots of hangers around the bunks were a nice touch! No towels when I stayed. Foot massage machine was absolutely worth €3, don’t skip that :)

Sadly we never got to stay here, as when we arrived the host told us we should have phoned to confirm our reservation between eight and nine in the morning, and that there was now no room left. Nowhere had this been mentioned in any of our communications. He was unable to explain this, so we have to assume it was he who had made a mistake and it was an attempt to cover up.
We then had to try and find somewhere else at short notice. Not great.

What a delightful man, keen to help. I arrived with a lady who was unwell. Owner called taxi, helped lady to taxi and liaised with driver, then checked on me. So kind. Nice bathroom too, door that locks !

Loved the host- very helpful, did our laundry for 10 euros. Our room was single beds only- no bunks! (Although I think another room did have bunks so might have to specify). Rooms clean, bath was good. And we got a towel!

Nice, quiet and ”spiritual” albergue. Extremely nice host. Clean and quiet. Can really recommend it!
