The actual albuerge is fine. But the young girl working there - and the only English speaking person - was in a foul mood all the time to an extend where it got to you instantly. So no one hung out there, everybody went somewhere else to chill after arrival.

Wow! What a nice stay. My husband and I with our 3 adult children stayed here in bunks. It felt like being in a library. It was so quiet and calm. Everyone just lounging in their bunks or at the table or couches and really respectful of the silence. And how the bathrooms and bunk area are so clean with so many people is beyond me. Well done!! They really know what they are doing here. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend.
They give you mattress cover and pillow cover at check in.

Vanessa was gracious, kind and easy to deal with. One of the male employees made a snide "American" comment to one of the locals. He now knows that just because someone speaks English doesn't mean they don't understand Spanish. Vanessa was apologetic and the young man embarrassed. I won't hold it against him or the Albergue. People are imperfect.

I just had an email message from this albergue telling me it has closed.

It’s actually pretty nice place. They seem to have more places now as I saw that they has smaller dorm upstairs in addition to the large basement dorm. The bar is a nice addition for socialising and the pilgrim menu was tasty, they even made me a vegetarian version (with eggs). Beautiful location and peaceful environment.

I would not recommend this Albergue. It is too big and has no soul. The staff have no regard for you at all. The worst on my stay.

Big dorm in a basement. Wifi doesn’t work. Nice showers. Business woman.

I arrived after an afternoon in the rain. I did not feel welcome but was rather talked too like a naughty child because I was wet and did not understand Spanish. This went on when I tried to use the laundry and other services. The big dorm was cowded and (understandably) full of wet close. However the evening was nice but another time I would rather try the other albergue

This is a great place for pilgrims with the restaurant open all afternoon with Pilgrim meal or an à la carte menu. The pilgrim meal was 12 euros and excellent. Having a bar right here also made it a nice place to relax through the afternoon with other pilgrims and she opened the bar at 7:00 so I could have a coffee and breakfast before leaving which was quite nice. She's very busy very businesslike but I found her very friendly

I reserved a bed and everything was fine. I fellow pilgrim I met a few days before asked for a bed and she said no, but there were still a lot of beds available. Wifi only works in the bar or restaurant. Food is alright, not many options for vegetarians. What I found very weird, was that the door to go outside was locked (I tried to get out at 6 am) and it seemed to remain locked until before 7. Very small shower cabins. Big room downstairs to sleep. I don’t think I would recommend it.

She's a great business woman. Enough said....

Great albergue with amazing staff. They phoned all over to try to secure us a bed for the best day. It is Easter week and a festival in Grandas de Salime. The albergue was excellent with good food and comfortable beds. The bar and terrace were good to hang out. The staff friendliness made it stand out. I would recommend staying here.

The Restaurant offers only omlet and Salad. Bread is charged extra.
No possibility to prepare and eat own food.
Not recommended

Great place, good facilities, clean and food is good. The owner is quirky and may come off as a little rude at first, but she’s not. Would recommend.

Clean and comfortable. There is a big spacious area for sleeping. There are facilities for washing your clothes. There is breakfast and coffee starting at 6:30 so you can start early.
After 9pm at night you can request bocadillos to take with you, as there are very few services between here and the next stop.

Stayed here at the end of my 4th day walking the Camino Primitivo and my favourite stop so far. Dorm room was big and clean. Bathroom was clean and separate for males and females.
The staff were so helpful and friendly. Food in the restaurant was great. Nice wine. Good coffee.
Recommend for a comfy, friendly stay.

In the evening there was a lot of noise from the bar/restaurant, doors and personnel running up and down the stairs. When I wanted to leave at 6am, the door of the albergue was still locked.
The dormroom was spacious, only 3 bunk beds nowadays. Bathrooms and room all very clean.
