Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino de Invierno app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Sept 15, 2026

We took the detour and went right up the steep hill to a nuns spot spent the afternoon out in the shaded yard talking with the volunteer none until we could check into the Donna one of my favorite stops ever. The non-reinforced for me having an open heart and open hands, which is exactly what I determined before I left was my posture. Had a service with our small little group, singing songs and sharing very meaningful.

Fantastic place

I stopped here because of all the comments I had seen and it didn't disappoint. It was every biy as lovely as everyone had said. I only wish I had arrived earlier to enjoy it more. A true gem. Stop here if you can.

A beautiful one

Nothing but good things to say. If you seek peace and simplicity, this place is for you. Don't be afraid of staying at a religious donativo, even if you aren't religious. The sisters are nothing but welcoming; come as you are.

Perfect

Hospitaleros from USA caring for Pilgrims. Very clean and comfortable stay , and lovely Nuns to hold a gathering in the evening, in the church next door. Please remember that Donativo isn’t a Free stay , please give with your heart open. 💕

Must arrive early as only 18 spaces

This is a special stay on the Camino and if you are doing the Camino for spiritual reasons you will be happy to have made the choice to fit it in your schedule. It is also first come first served and no reservations. I arrived first at 10am from Larrasoaña and the 18 spots were taken by 12:30. They don’t open until 2:30. Make sure to line up backpacks when you arrive as there was a bit of a dispute from latecomers. There is a room with one bunk bed, one with two bunks and the larger room with 6 bunks. Two bathrooms for 18 people. The nuns are so nice and provide a meaningful reflective experience.

Perfect rest spot

After a tough few days I was in need of a rest, and Zabaldika was perfect.

The albergue was spotless, communal vegetarian dinner was simple and tasty (lentil soup, tortilla and salad, yoghurt)

What makes Zabaldika special is the welcome from the sisters and hospitaleros. I was lucky enough to arrive on the Fiesta de Corazón Jesús, and the day the sisters renew their vows, so there was a special concert in the evening.

It is a gentle, welcoming spot, and I would recommend to anyone needing a rest!

Not Meant to Be

I was so looking forward to this true pilgrim spirit and prayer time but will be passing by on about 25th March. Way too early 🥲

Love and kindness

Best stay so far on the Camino. The pilgrim blessing in the evening before the lovely dinner I highly recommend. Everyone is included, no matter of nationality. And the sisters of the parish are so sweet. Staff is volonteers and takes good care of everyone. Everything is so clean and really comfortable.

I arrived super late during

I arrived super late during the afternoon and exhausted and there was no room at the inn. However, the nuns fed me with an amazing community dinner and I stayed the night on the front entrance of the church. It was a cold night but the nuns gave me chocolate and warm blankets. In summary, this was one of the most memorable places/ experiences on my camino. That morning we went to mass and then left on the trail!

Wonderful! Very clean and the guys who run the albergue are lovely and offered me ice tea and a rest before checking in. We made dinner together and it was great. The nuns are super sweet and we had a lovely time in the church together with songs and sharing time.
