The highlight of my trip so far!! David the owner has created something magical from what was practically a ruined building. What an inspiration he is. Stay and donate what you can to such an amazing place

Hands down the most beautiful albergue I’ve stayed at. Very quirky with great attention to details. Vegan friendly. Amazing host. Would plan my Camino around this little gem.

I just have to add above all of the other comments.
Plan your Camino around coming to this place. It’s in the middle of the Frances and it’s like no other. What a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy life!

All of the previous comments are true. This is a truly unique and wonderful place! David is the consummate host and provides everything, all for donation. It’s his home and you are treated like an old friend. If you get a bad vibe here, you should not be on the Camino. Pack your shit and go home and hate yourself. Best place on the Camino hands down.

It was a brilliant night it was my best night on the camino with David as host and absolutely brilliant Albergue the people all joined and it was the whole spirit of the place and the aesthetic that made this really really good

David blew me away how he single handedly juggles all the jobs whilst also engaging and socialising with a full house. He miraculously produced a wonderful dinner with lots of bonhomie . There was wine and there was dessert and there was guitar playing and song. Donativo amazing is his generosity.
The setting is colourful, clean, green and utterly unique. I will always remember La Boheme as a complete standout on my Camino

We had a chickpea stew with Moroccan cous cous- delicious. A very homely place with a gorgeous outdoor area. David (owner/host) was fun, interesting and made my stay fantastic. It’s been my favourite place to stay so far. Bar Susana in town is also highly recommended if just passing through.

There are 16 beds not 10.
Fantastic vibe

Nothing else to do but relax. Well stocked fridge. Lovely vegetarian communal meal. Breakfast provided. All donation. Host does the washing. There is no wifi. Bathrooms downstairs. Dormitory in an attic room upstairs with a very steep stairs to access.

David has created the most wonderful and welcoming space. He is passionate about what he does and goes above and beyond to make the pilgrims feel welcome and cared for. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the food was made with love and delicious. What a beautiful experience - I highly recommend this stay.

This is perhaps the most uncomfortable I have been on the camino so far.
In the beginning we were welcomed warmly by the host who seemed warm and a bit eccentric. In the next few hours he devolved into a narcissistic man-child who can't stand any other voice than his own. And "his voice" is a whole lot of new age mumbo jumbo in which he is just mixing up multiple religions and (pseudo-)science. Nothing wrong with that, but him shouting at people, borderline bullying and having childish tantrums are. Add to that an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and you've got David, one moment charming and then a volatile mess for the rest of the day.
I just stopped interacting with him and tried to keep to myself in order not to attract his attention. Later on in the evening he nearly got into a fight with another guest for no reason...
As for the good: while I do think David is troubled, his place is beautiful and he really goes the extra mile for his guests (foods & drinks wise). The food was excellent and I do think he tried his best (in his own way). Sadly, it was too much David for me and it ruined the entire experience for me.

This Donativa is run by Dávid, a Frenchman who did the Camino himself and loves it. You can feel his love the minute you walk in the door. He's a delightful and engaging host. We had actually booked at another place in town, but were looking for a place to eat, disappointed that nothing opened until 7:00 p.m. Our host called Dávid and asked if he would kindly feed us. He agreed, and soon after we were enjoying the most delicious, home-cooked vegetarian meal! Though the meal was a donativo meal, we gladly paid generously for it, delighted with the quality of the meal, as well as with Dávid himself. One of the highlights of our entire Camino! Please do not miss this lovely spot....Ami, Rick & Suska May 17, 2024

Everything said above is endorsed by me. A very special place and David is a superb host.

David is a special person. Come with an open mind, and you will be surprised. Not only is the place incredibly unique and well-kept, but also you'll be surrounded by some beautiful plants in the garden, fruit trees and will be greeted with a warm welcome. You can be sure to be whoever you are. David will know how to value you and cooks super tasty meals. Everything is on a donation basis, which means you should give as most as you can to keep this magical place going.

Very unique place. So not for everyone.

La Boheme is one of my two favourite places I stayed on the Camino. David was very welcoming, even though we arrived early, and we were soon relaxing in his garden. We had a great Vegan cous cous for dinner (I'm not Vegan) it was a very delicious meal. There were Vegan options in his well stocked fridge, available to all guests. David put all of the guests clothes through the washing machine after we had showered. We also enjoyed some good music from other guests. Breakfast was laid out for us on the kitchen table on a help yourself basis. Definitely worth a stay.

David bought this dilapidated property about ten years ago (look, I'd had a vino tinto or two, so don't quote me). In that time he's lovingly restored original features, added loads of personality and cultivated a cute kitchen garden.
This donativo albergue feels like a home, because it is one. It's cosy, warm, and if there's something you want or need, it's yours. Everything is simple, but done well.
Make sure you read all the signage, because David hates repeating himself.
NOTE: this donativo is closed Saturday and Sunday because everyone needs a weekend, right?! 💕

If you want a different and funky donativo this is your place. Could only exist on El Camino. The host is volatile, intense, and generous. He will wash your clothes and fix a dinner different from the usual pilgrim fare. He will also cuss at you if annoyed. Not the cleanest place I’ve stayed but acceptable. It is interesting everywhere you look.

Where to begin? Go for the patio, the fridge full of drinks, the stage full of instruments, the spacious shower, and the meticulously labeled amenities. Stay for the intense and unpredictable host, who will ensure you never quite know what is going to happen next. Remarkable in literally every way. A truly unforgettable evening, and a story that will only ever be fully undersrood by the others who shared it with you.

Total rustic charm. The host is amazing. He cooks, he washes your clothes, and he has a refrigerator filled with wine, beer, and juices for his guest. He means it when he says his house is your house. Overall this village does not seem friendly— this albergue will change your opinion.
