Warning

At least two pilgrims, one an elderly man, turned up today with reservations comfirmed the previous day by WhatsApp only to be told it was ‘completo’.

Loved it

Carlos was so sweet and helpful during our check in and gave a great and very interesting tour of the church and monastery. Shower was nice and hot and the we had a private room for a very affordable price. Staying in a place that thousands of pilgrims have stayed at through the years feels very special. Defintely recommend!!

Santa Clara - black hole

I was so tired from my walk I crawled into the first albergue I saw.. looked ok but looks deceive. Ushered into a hole in the back somewhere crammed with bunks - toilets, showers were a bit suspect. Glad to get out of there next morning.
Should have walked further on to better albergues!

Don’t bother with this place

13 May 2025
I reserved a bed and received confirmation that I have a reservation. I sent a thank you message and got back “ See you tomorrow”.
When I arrived the nun receiving simply said “completo”. I showed her the messages and she just kept repeating “completo”, “ completo”.

Worst madress in my Camino

I rented a private room with a bathroom for €50 a night. I lay down on the mattress and decided to ask the receptionist to cancel my reservation for €10 because the mattress was so uncomfortable (old and with noticeable metal springs). The chipboard underneath one of the mattresses was also broken. The receptionist initially agreed to the deal. When I packed my things and asked for the €40 back, he told me he couldn't remember what he'd told me and could only give me €30 back because the sheets needed to be changed for hygiene reasons. I'm overjoyed to be out of the room, because at Hostal Albe I only paid €32 a night and had a really comfortable bed, a much nicer room, and even a bathtub.

Wonderful

I enjoyed the bathwan and madrass. Clothwashing for free. Great room and stay there!

Private double room €24 or with bathroom €50

We had a private room with bathroom for €50, but many pilgrims that had been in dorms until here opted for private rooms shared bath. Super value and many just rocked up on the day. If you arrive late you’ll be in a shared dorm like usual.
The guy that manages the place is precise and fairly slow but his demeanour is delightful to experience and reminds us why we are on the comino.
Dia supermarket is close 2 blocks, but beware all the restaurants are closed from 3-7 or 3-8pm.
Also the cafe en route at the 7k mark tomorrow serves everything you need so u don’t have to “stock up” as everyone seems to do.

Peaceful..

Second time staying here. 8 years apart. Exactly as we remembered it. Had a private room with bathroom. So peaceful, Clean, welcoming, value for money. Definitely recommend that you visit the chapel beside the accomodation. You’ll notice the nuns who have sworn to silence, praying.

Single room highly recommended !

I cannot recommend this room any more highly more than any places I have stayed so far. This is so amazingly clean and the place is so peaceful and quiet. Theres a kitchen and laundry here too and 3 min walk to the grocery! You pay 25 euro for a private room but I cannot recommend this enough to prepare yourself for the 17km walk stretch the next day. Love love love it!

Get Thee to the Nunery!

Great option at €25 for a single room in the heart(ish) of town.

Basic room with en-suite, blankets, heating (never enough anywhere) and comfy bed. Access to a kitchen down the stairs and across the courtyard.

Quirky man who does the work here is charmingly dour.

Super quiet & peaceful & super safe.

Excellent choice!

Our first stay in a monastery, and it was delightful. Cozy private room with a wonderful bathroom, quiet and in a great location. Well-run facility. Only drawback was that no sun shone on the tiny laundry area so our clothes didn’t dry.

27. April 2023 - 21:28

Great room for the price

We have a private room with the best water pressure I have had on the Camino. The room is basic but very comfortable. I would definitely recommend the Monasterio!

22. September 2022 - 14:53

Very nice stay

Nice room very comfortable bed with real towels and spotless

13. July 2022 - 16:30

Basic but quiet

I had a nice habitación individual. Everything nice and clean. The bed was a bit too soft though.

21. September 2021 - 16:36

Warning: dont stay here!!

The owner is rude, arrogant and disrespectful. We booked 2 beds three days in advance. The owner said we needed to be there by 3pm. We arrived at 2pm and told him we had a reservation. He checked his book, confirmed that our names were there, then told us the albergue was full, and the beds we reserved were already occupied. We showed him our names in his reservation book. He just shrugged his shoulders and told us to leave! Rude, arrogant, and disrespectful.

Currently staying here. We

Currently staying here. We got lucky with single beds in a room for three! It's basic, the layout feels cramped. It was €8.

I took a single room here

I took a single room here last year, for some well deserved rest. The room was compact and clean, had a private bathroom and was lovely and quiet.
