Albergue Meiga Backpackers

My food was stolen, and my metal bunk was touching the one next to it so anytime someone moved, my bed rattled making it hard to sleep all night. The showers are tiny. The things I appreciated are the hammock, the large lounge area and lots of laundry lines.

Was surprisingly quiet given all beds full. Did not know about bar? Breakfast not worth the price as better places in town. Go to the market! Mass is a must. Small churches are better than cathedral. This place allowed us to leave our items in fridge and back porch. Also took a reservation for when we come back later in week. Getting hotel out of town for a splurge.

I tried calling on WiFi and it did not go through may need updated contact number

I was looking around the establishment… and he rudely advised me that this was his place….
I don’t care who you are as I had paid my money for the night.
Also parties until 24:00
All night all patrons going in and out of the rooms and lights automatically coming on and off,
If you want to sleep don’t stay here

I booked this Albergue because of the great reviews. I am so glad I did. Both Jorge and Esteban were both such gracious hosts. I found everything to my liking. We had some great casual chats in their private back yard. The hosts even treated me to a beer (don’t expect this. It’s just another comment on how gracious they are).

I decided to book my flight out the next day and was having web issues. They even helped me book my flight! They went above and beyond what’s expected from a host. I will certainly book all my Santiago visits with them in the future. I suggest you do the same!

Terrific place to stay and enjoy your arrival at the end of a long road. And yes. Two real sheets and a comforter. How awesome is that!? The host is a foodie and you can often find him in the kitchen chatting up a storm.

Nice and clean. Comfortable bed with real bedsheets. Dorm was good with plenty of room. And a locker for each bed (you need to bring your own lock). Kitchen fully equipped. Nice little garden with hammocks. Very chilled atmosphere.
And a resident cat that kept me company in the morning.
