Albergue Azabache

Camino Inglés app

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Inglés app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Good location!!

We paid 36 euros for a bed. Its ok. Decent enough. Some albergue provide shower gel and shampoo. This albergue does not. But with clean sheets and a rather cosy bunk bed, we can survive the night !

Great location

Just a few minutes walk to the Cathedral, great location for exploring the old city. No curfew. Rooms are a little cramped, but adequate

Good option in Santiago

Comfortable stay, cotton sheets and duvet. Proper bathrooms but not many of them. Excellent location. Paid 34€ for a bed in a 4 bed dorm on the second floor, sharing with friends so it was fine but it is quite a small room otherwise

Check in opened at 13:00, not 10:00

Just figured it’d be nice to know, lol

Second time and even better

Stayed here after the Camino Frances and again this year after the Primativo. Spacious and light filled rooms, the upper floor has small terraces, terrific common room, and gorgeous old wood throughout. And the staff are incredibly helpful – especially yesterday during the nationwide power outage!

Characterful, and lovely staff

The lady in charge was incredibly helpful and kind. Very good location. Kitchen and washing and sitting room. Clean but characterful dorms, with an excellent balcony from the top dorm.

Also, criticism of responsiveness is not correct

I see reviews to complain they’re not open. The telephone number is on the front door, you can reach them on WhatsApp if they’re not responding, or message via Booking.com. And if it takes a few minutes, deal with it, they are super helpful Seriously, the whiners are just being lazy and expecting someone to be standing there to carry their backpack.

Excellent Albergue

Fantastic location, Stone throw from everything, great little bars and cafés, and extremely comfortable accommodation with nice common areas and little balconies . Could easily be tempted to stay here a second night.
