Albergue Vieira

I was one of only 3 people who stayed here. The rooms and bathrooms are clean but the rest of the house and garden is very messy. The garden is very neglected making it not nice to sit in it. The entrance of the house is the kitchen and has lots of clutter and food lying around. I have the feeling they are not interested in pilgrims as they also live there and make no effort to clean up. I had to go to the albergue next door for lunch and dinner and just to have a place to sit without clutter. No toilet paper or hand wash in the female bathroom.

My friend and I made two separate reservations. We arrived at 6:45pm and everything was closed. Tried to call no answer. We left. Later we were messaged that because we didn’t arrive by 6:00pm, she closed. Perhaps let us know that information when we called to reserve. Frustrating!

Basic accommodations but comfortable and very much like a home stay. Dinner was good, very communal. I’d stay there again. There April 29, 2024

Although it is right on the highway it still manages to be a very peaceful place.
The owner is so kind and the place just has a lovely family feel.

Rooms are bright, bathrooms adequate. Electrical outlets not well placed but if you have a long cord you will be fine. They do have a young child who makes noises as childs do. May not be for everybody.
Wish I could recommend this place to others but I can’t. the yard definitely need some love, garbage on the ground, cigarette butts at the door, pool with green algae, kids toys laying about. I think the woman at the house just has too much to do and doesn’t have the time that is needed. When you walk in the family kitchen area is right there and the pilgrims/family dining areas are also adjacent to the kids bedrooms.

Dinner 14€ breakfast 6€ the most expensive charges for food so far for me.
Dinner was 3 courses plus a simple salad but still seem too expensive for what it is. Didn't have the breakfast there due to the price.
A good place to stay still as it's a comfortable space.

We stayed here May 18,2023. Patricia welcomed us with open arms. There was hot water in the showers. She gave us real sheets and pillowcases as well as blankets. There’s plenty of chairs outside to sit and relax. dinner was offered at 14 euros. She had a three course meal which was homemade and delicious. She also offered vegan options. Washer and dryer available for additional cost. In the morning breakfast was offered and we were sent off on our way with well wishes. Highly recommend albergue Vieira.

Cosy and warm Albergue run by Patricia who is very welcoming and helpful person! 🥰 I stayed here on 14/5 and even heating was turned on for pilgrims' comfort. Nice shower with a door and curtain. Real bed sheets. Plenty of space outside to seat and relax. Vegan dinner. Adorable place!

What can I say. The owner is a little dynamo great atmosphere ,great food ,you will enjoy

Like walking into your grandmother’s home. And the people were lovely. Couldn’t recommend more.

We stayed here after reading a lot of positive reviews. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. The garden is fantastic to relax in after a long walk. We had a communal dinner together and the food was delicious and cooked with ingredients from their own garden. We didn’t stay for breakfast but it looked very generous. The dorm and showers were clean and we appreciate that there were plenty of toilets and showers.

If you are staying in San Martín del Camino, this is where you should stay.
It is a cosy little place, warm, clean. The owner's cooking is amazing, simple but incredibly tasty! The beds are very comfortable. Great breakfast also with anything you can wish for.
The owners are very friendly and warm. You feel almost at home here.

The best stay on the Camino so far from St Jean-Pied-de-Port. Clean, friendly and fantastic food highly recommended!

I stayed my first night on the Camino here in this helpfully, carring Albergue. The lovely food was made from fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden. I want to come back :)

This was our first day on the Camino leaving out of Leon early in the morning. It was hot and we were tired by the time we arrived! The welcoming we received was brilliant and the staff friendly and happy. The food was delicious and the accommodation clean. I thoroughly recommend Vieira to you! Buen Camino

One of the best hostels I have stayed at! Friendly, warm, welcoming, and love at this place! Vegetation meal and the best mixed salad in the region!
Pool, hammocks, laundry service and I had a massage!
