Camino Francés app

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino Francés app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

No food services on site

Facility is located outside of the city and has no food service. We would not stay here again.

Alda Palas De Rei

We had a nice stay here. Happy it was one of the 1st places to stay once you get to Palas DR after Portomarin ( but for dinner you may have to walk into town about 15 minutes) Cabin vibe in the room, spacious, clean, good shower. Good wifi, good heating, nice staff, Demi who worked check in was very kind & helpful.

Better but worse

Alda had built a nice, new reception/eating area. The staff is friendly. The dinner was small and not delicious. The breakfast was good with all the basics.

The walls are thin, the bed is comfy, the shower is good. I had ants in my room, but none of my companions did....lucky me.

Now called Hotel Alda—but hardly a hotel

There are NO services here. Not even a vending machine to buy water. Breakfast is very basic and offered in a tent (really, not kidding). Medicines cannot be refrigerated. Outside of town, and no delivery services for food. Not a good choice unless you have a car.

We stayed here in March of

We stayed here in March of 2019 and it was comfortable and clean, with a nice breakfast included. It is just before Palas de Rei, and doesn’t have the charm of many other places, but the warmth and cleanliness were appreciated on a cool night.

The pro's our weigh the cons.

Overall a good place to stay. Big rooms and very comfortable, warm beds. After a long day on the Camino I appreciated the rest. As others have commented, the walls are thin and I could hear the people in next cabin snoring. Also the shower head holder as broken. Food was ok and good value
