Beautiful All the Way Around

A simply magical albergue with a most caring host and staff. Pilgrims dinner was delicious and albergue was spotless. I lost my bag in transfer and the host took care of it and said not to worry. It magically appeared within the hour. You must consider this albergue and its beautiful scenery.

Wow

Just incredible. I’ve walked since SJPP and this is by far the best. There’s so much to love about this place.

Amazing

If you want to avoid the crowds of Sarria, stay here!! Bed was 16€, dinner was 16€, weather was great so they set up dinner outside and I had the best pilgrims meal in my whole Camino. They had gluten free options and the serves were huge. Wifi is meh but it works. Hosts were so loevly

Nice albergue, but don't do breakfast

The albergue is very nice, with good warm showers and a beautifull garden. But the breakfast was awfull. For 6 euro's you should get a nice breakfast, but the coffee was finished when I arrived at 7:30, there was no tea or yoghurt and you get only toasted bread from the supermarket with jam and a boiled egg and a piece of cake.
Also the dinner wasn't very good. Just pasta with red sauce or pesto and a plain salad without tuna and onion en a very small piece of egg. Then is 11 euro still too expensive.

Great stay, new owner and reopend in 2025

I stayed here April 10, 2025. Good service and friendly hosts (pelgrims themselves!), beds are good, toilets and bathroom clean, beautiful garden. Recommended!

Wonderful stay once I found it :)

The property is very large and comfortable. The Albergue offers heaters, real sheets and dinner (which other albergues nearby do not). We had a lovely community dinner with the 6 of us. There are 4 toilets and 4 showers. Fernando was very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed staying here and would stay here again!

Wonderful

We stayed here4 years ago but it has been completely updated. Fernando has only had this place a couple of months and is very friendly. He provided a delicious dinner although there were only 6 of us.

What a treat!

We were two of only three staying here so service was personal and very attentive. Beds and space were comfortable and ample; bathrooms were large and clean (hair dryer, too!) Dinner was served on site and was sufficient but nothing special. Lovely setting in a beautifully-restored building!

Good n Bad

Stayed here Oct 6. The accommodations were great but the food was ordered out came late cold and the orders were incorrect.6€breakfast was a rip off white bread toast cold with marmalade and instant coffee

Great, friendly, so accommodating

Fernando, the host, did everything to please us. Even drove back to Sarria to be sure to have vegan food for the vegan guest. I had not gotten the required stamps and he helped me get those.
The place is modern and clean with lots of beds and bathrooms tho there were only two of us staying. Fernando gets joy by serving his guests!

Fantastic Stay .

Kind and generous host , that is really helpful to Pilgrims. The Albergue is about 500 metres past the village of Barbedelo , you find it on the right with an old sign by the driveway. It has big modern bathrooms, lovely bedrooms with soft white sheets , top and bottom. Perfect stay as the gardens for Pilgrims and the views are amazing.

Upgraded, super clean and friendly

This place is under new management for 2 months now (I am told) and frankly I found it amazing! Very-very clean and the host, Fernando was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend it!

Tried to stay or eat here but no can do

Went to the door just before 1 pm. Another person was there with me and he said the lady inside didn’t seem to be too happy. I asked him to find out if she was opening or would be serving food being it’s the only place in the town who serves food. He talked with her and she said she had surgery and wouldn’t be opening or serving food for an undetermined amount of time. Just fyi!

Service very slow. We have to

Service very slow. We have to wait for the private room over 1/12 hours. Dinner highly recommended was been mistreated.

3. June 2019 - 21:06

Not so easy to find initially

Not so easy to find initially but facilities good - looked lovely BUT however we felt we were in the way and asking questions = not well received/ignored. Walked back at least 1 k to bar since nothing available to relax with/in. Washing facilities not explained also line way over field in distance. Meal 7pm but dining room filled up with pilgrims from down the road - bunfight taking orders - no soup until 7.30. 2 friends left me with money to pay and escaped ASAP since it was such chaos. Pilgrims arrived late ie after 8pm = disruptive to whole dormitory- unfortunate and upsetting.

We enjoyed a cold evening

We enjoyed a cold evening here in March 2019. Carmen invited us into her kitchen to sit by the fire and chat while she cut turnip greens for Caldo Gallega. We were her first overnight guests of 2019 so the WiFi and hot water were not working properly yet, but it was still a memorable and charming experience in a rural home with charming hosts.
