Camino del Norte app

Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Very good option with 50 beds

Great option in the center.
50 beds. Comfortable and w clean white sheets. Rest of accommodation is simple, clean but okay.
Jon is very helpful and helped us to find lots of alternative things from wise pilgrims book.

Very nice surprise

After reading all the comments here, I was afraid of what I would find and my expectations were low, but I had an extremely pleasant surprise. The hosts were very welcoming, the bed linen was clean, and the room was airy.

50 betten in albergue santos martires santander

die hier angegebene bettenzahl sollte mal korrigiert werden, da die albergue santos martires nicht nur 12, sondern 50 (!!) betten hat.

Some good, some bad

This is your typical pilgrims albergue. All the regular amenities plus a decently stocked kitchen. It opened at 1pm when we were there, not 3pm so you could get in earlier. Small cake provided for breakfast for everyone to share. Good well working showers but with glass doors so may uncomfortable if you’re more modest. Wooden bunks were very creaky and were the worst mattresses on the Camino so far tho.

Perfect location

Albergue is sort of basic, separate facilities for men and women, a good kitchen for those who cook, laundry facilities, although there is faster and cheaper very close. Wifi. Bust station is around the corner and the cathedral is 2 blocks away.

Very bad

We stayed here because we could not find any other place. Al the rooms are “connected” because the walls don’t go up all to the ceiling. Therefore a lot of noises in the night. The pillow looked like it was not washed, there were hairs on it that were clearly not mine. If you can find something else, skip this one.

A bit cramped but cheap and no issues

It was a little cramped but open early. Definitely no bed bugs. Only two showers and toilets for each sex. Just chill out while waiting your turn. Plenty of phone outlets now as they have added extension plugs. Recommend if you don’t want to spend much. Just off the trail.

Im Vergleich zu den bisherigen Herbergen ein echtes Loch. https://youtu.be/XSXMf1hBpP8
Ich kann nicht verstehen, dass sich eine Stadt wie Santander den Pilgern so etwas zumutet.

Try somewhere else, bedbugs

We stayed for one night since it was the cheapest place by far. The place was dirty and had only 1 outlet in a room for 8 beds.
The biggest nuisance was the place had Bed Bugs, didn’t notice when we arrived as the lights were turned off, only realised when we woke up and they crawling all over us… Don’t stay here

Find another place

This is my third Camino and by far, the most poor albergue I stayed. And what is it with the washer and dryer rule, “must be a large load”, really, who cares as long as you pay for it,,,,,

29. May 2021 - 17:59

Not very recommendable. It's

Not very recommendable. It's loud at night and not very clean. In the kitchen you are only allowed to use the microwave. Definitely not worth 15€

25. August 2019 - 16:00

Hospitalera is nice but

Hospitalera is nice but everything else about this place is subpar. See through showers, creaky beds, dirty, nowhere to sit, no outlets. Recommend staying elsewhere or pushing onwards if you can.

10. August 2019 - 15:41

The worst albergue so far,

The worst albergue so far, very dirty, hot and over crowded. Not worth the 12€ stay in the town before or after.
