Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino del Norte app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

29. August 2026 - 15:15

Definitely worth the stay

Make sure to buy ticket in tourist office with credentials and passport ready , check in afternoon shoes off on shelf
Have a blanket or something also
Great showers pilgrim experience and nightlife

25. August 2026 - 9:20

Great atmosphere middle of town in small dorms

They use all the space they have for beds, which is a good thing because they seem to fill up every night in summer.
Therefor only walker are admitted as there aren’t any alternatives for them.

they filled up around 18:00.
People who were out of luck were able to shower and the spend the night cowboy camping on the beach together:)

6. June 2026 - 18:17

Discrimination against cyclists

I arrived they told me to go to the Turism office. Kinda far, kinda not obvious, found it though. But then I was told, we can't give you a bed cause you're a cyclist.

16. March 2026 - 16:41

Basic but good option.

Basic building, only 2 toilets and showers but Comfy clean bed.
Took a shower at 8 pm and it was very cold.. so day showers are the thing!
Central location.

Less info the better

Arrived into the visitor center with injured partner and the Rude tourism's staff refused to allow us to stay because we arrived via train. Less do you provide the better. Keep your arrival method private.

13. May 2025 - 11:50

Not a bad option!

The facilities are a little basic but I was grateful for a clean and comfortable space. Don’t be afraid of staying here. The station is right next to the train tracks and you can hear the teenagers going out on the town at night but with some ear plugs you are all set. They have laundry facilities and the grocery stores in town were great.
Make sure you get your ticket at the tourist office so you get a bed!

Not a great experience

The albergue is cheap but that’s the only positive thing. We didn’t sleep at all the whole night. Very noisy. Also, no blankets but luckily it wasn’t that cold.

14. July 2024 - 17:14

Cheap and basic

Well situated on the Camino. Cheap at 8 euros. No place to cook or eat but great benches outside and plenty of great bars in town.

6. July 2024 - 17:05

Fantastic service

We stayed here on July 5, 2024, check-in at tourist info 8€, the Arbergue is in the back of the train station, top service🙏🏽

29. June 2024 - 22:40

I don’t recommend

If you can choose, don’t stay at this albergue. The host is not very welcoming. The showers are old and not clean. The street next to the albergue is busy and the trains passing by are really loud. Unfortunately there are no other options where to stay nearby (budget friendly).

8. June 2024 - 16:34

Arrive early

The train station albergue filled up quick. You have to get your name in and pay at the tourist information office. FYI there are public elevators as you enter the town to take you down to the level of the albergue and information.

18. May 2024 - 21:18

Disponibility and opening hours

This is what’s noted on the doors ~ places where you should check in depending on the time you arrive:
11:00 - 14:00 tourist office
15:00 - 18:00 tourist office
18:00 - 20:00 albergue
20:00 -21:00 (21:30) police office
Sundays/holidays ~ hours may differ
Today I got there 19:15 and got the bed 55/56, just for your info…

2. May 2024 - 15:19

No blanket

Beds had single use sheets, but had no blankets, so make sure to bring a sleeping bag or a lot of warm clothes.
We arrived 4.30 pm and got bed 37 and 38 of 56 (place didn’t get filled up, but heard from others it was full a couple days later)

6. April 2024 - 21:50

Stop at tourist centre to save yourself an extra trip

We arrived early so had lunch and then walked back, only to discover that we had pay and get door code at the tourist centre. 8 euros is a great price. No blankets or food, but the restaurant across the street is open in the morning.

24. September 2023 - 17:08

Very popular albergue

We ran here from Orio and arrived by 2:50pm, we went straight to the tourist office (don’t go to the albergue if it’s before 2pm or after 3pm) waited outside until 3 to check in. 8e each and I think they accept only card payment. We got bed number 23th and 24th. And I think by 5 it was completely full because A LOT of people want to stay here. If you missed this, you can go up the mountain a bit more to go to Izarbide for another 5km

16. September 2023 - 13:11

Deba

The Albergue is okay by itself. But the whole process is painfull. A lot of people want to be here, so you need to be early. The registration takes a very long time. At night you are disturbed by the traffic lights (the horrible sound) and trains. It is full of other pilgrims with no air conditioning, so it is very hot at night.

19. July 2023 - 20:38

Organised and handy to cafe

Checked in at tourist information and got given code and bed was assigned. Excellent cafe across the road which was also open early

13. July 2023 - 14:26

Sensible accomodations, tricky entry

The albergue is easy to find at the train station, but access can be a bit tricky;
Before 2pm you have to go to the local turist information. It's located next to the church, and signs are easy enough to follow.
From 2pm to 3pm the turist information is closed, but the albergue is now staffed.
After 3pm the turist information is open again, and the albergue prefer that you go there for payment and such.

The place well staffed and the facilities are good. Trains rarely pass the station at night, but if you have a room facing the street instead, a local traffic light will act as your alarm clock at 4am if you have the window open.

11. May 2023 - 17:06

Albergue de Deba

Good location. Clean €8. Can not hear the trains even though staying above the train station. A few places within a few blocks to eat.
