Pilgrims on the road and friends along the way send me changes every day, and they go out the same day. The Camino De San Salvador app carries all of it offline, and it's still being built — new features arrive routinely.

Bed Bug Infested

I woke this morning covered in bed bug bites which I now feel it necessary to seek medical attention for. Hardly slept due to the constant noise from city centre revellers partying all night and all morning.
Some of those Revellers arrived into this Hostal at 11pm, Midnight and 1am to climb into bunk beds, drunkenly and noisily. This is because the entire booking and entry system is IT based and electronically managed via your smart phone and there is no physical staff on site, apart from a you g cleaner who seems to bare the brunt of people’s frustration. So, if you’re a Pilgrim, in need of rest, DO NOT STAY HERE !
ITS A DUMP ! ANOISY BED BUG INFESTED DUMP !

New Owner, Juan is gone

New Owner / Hospitalero, it seems as Nobody cares If Something is broken.
Check In is completely IT based, absolut no contact to anybody, very steril.
With Juan, the charme of the albergue left as well....very sad

Highly recommended

A wonderful place to stay. Thank you, Juan.

Restful. Rejuvenating. Recuperative!

Just what I needed and Juan makes you feel like family. He went out and bought cheese, chorizo, bread and wine and pulled people together. And then he sang happy birthday to me and had everyone join in. Sheila also had the same birthday. She and her husband Phil were from Winnipeg. Helen from England. And a few others and it was a party.

Great place and host.

Beautiful building and a very gregarious and generous host ! A little noisy on weekends .

6. September 2023 - 18:55

Friendly host and good facilities.

Booked two beds at 20 euros each. Has bedsheet and pillow case, towels. Kitchen is fully equipped and has coffee maker and tea bags. Juan, the host was nice enough to wait for us at the door because the map took us to number 21 instead of 25. So watch out.
Even though it was right in the middle of everything we sleep well if you close the windows and use ear plugs. Separate male and female bathrooms. Very clean. Highly recommend it if you want to be in the middle of town. Eat at restaurant Daniel, 20 euros for 3 course meal with wine.

Excellent place to stay

Highly recommend Covent Garden- an Awesome place to stay. Very central location in Main Street close to Cathedral, lovely shops and a great choice of restaurants, bars and cafes. We stayed 2 nights and would happily stay longer. Our host Juan was super friendly and so very helpful. He made our stay comfortable and fun for all the pilgrims there as we all gathered in kitchen area to meet and socialise. Thank you so much Juan.

Don’t miss it!

If you don’t stay here you are missing out, Juan is a brilliant and flexible host, located right in the centre of the city, can be noisy on a Friday Saturday night! But great place for a rest day, we stayed 2 nights.

Rested and recharged , so good .

Spent 2 nights here, my first rest day and so glad I choose Covent Garden.
The location , the huge apartment ( 2nd floor), the bright airy 2 bunk dorm, the steaming hot shower , the glorious little balcony off the bedroom looking straight at Gaudi’s Casa Botines , the host Juan. Everything made for a perfect stay , 10 stars!

Juan makes this place amazing!

Juan has to be one of the most engaging hosteliers on the Camino… and he remembers everyone’s name! This is a wonderfully located, easy to find place on the second floor (3rd floor for those from USA 😂). It’s right by the Gaudi house, Catedral de Leon, shopping, and numerous bars/restaurants. I was in a room if 2 bunks. Men and omen have separate bathrooms. A real bath towel is provided and there are shower and personal supplies for use… including a hair dryer!! A really nice respite and down day from Camino walking. I definitely recommend this place!

Juan. The host with the most.
Linen bedding, a large towel, even shampoos in the shower.

I recommend with two thumbs up.

BEST, BEST, BEST

Juan is a tremendous host! Extremely accommodating and gracious! Location could not be better, an excellent value for the city. And our room came with a FAN!

4. September 2022 - 15:06

Wonderful, but noisy on a weekend

This hostel is amazing and Juan is absolutely wonderful! Would stay here again in a heartbeat, but only during the week. The noise on a Saturday night was super loud until the wee small hours and kept most of us up.

Juan changed my Camino, for good!

Excellent location, super comfortable and clean, closer to everything, yet quiet and peaceful.
But the main quality of this place is your host, Juan, who will do everything to make your stay pleasant and provide you caring advice about your plans for the Camino.

A warm and welcoming place

The hostel is perfec either if you are visiting León or just stopping during El Camino.

August 2022: Covent Garden Hostel

A wonderful hostel: sheets and towels provided. Great kitchen and quirky lounge to relax in. Friendly owner. Located in the centre - I wanted to keep the windows open in the room so slept with earplugs. Didn’t hear a thing!

13. July 2022 - 17:01

Wonderful place

Very central place, wonderful facilities in a beautiful, historical building. The owner Juan who is himself an experienced pilgrim has his guests’ interests at heart! Wonderful experience, I will highly recommend this place!

6. June 2022 - 20:09

Such a great welcome!

Juan was wonderful. And this place has everything you need to be comfortable in a great city. Highly recommend.

2. May 2022 - 8:32

My favourite and best hospitalero, Juan!

I hurt myself on the trail and needed an extended stay in Leon to recover. Juan welcomed me to his hostel and it was now the highlight of my trip. Juan is so caring and lovely, with the best advice. He took such good care of me and others who were sick/injured on the trail. This hostel is literally in the perfect location in Leon, and has bedside outlets and lights. Thank you big time to Juan for an excellent stay - I can’t recommend this hostel more highly!!
