Albergue de Villadangos del Páramo

I had an excellent experience at this albergue. Everything was clean, sheets were provided; it felt very peaceful. They also provide breakfast (we had bread, jams, PB, nutella, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, orange juice, coffee, & tea).
My only grievance is the single mixed dormitory & mixed washroom. Only 2 toilets & 2 showers, but I never needed to wait for one.

9 or 10 of us pilgrims and the two volunteers had a fun dinner all together here - such a great time.

This wonderful albergue is across the road on the right, (opposite the school and recreation centre) as you come into town. Very welcoming hosts and the spacious albergue has a wonderful vibe. Each bed has its own power and light and it has a spacious, well equipped kitchen and communal dining area. They provided a beautiful breakfast included at no-cost, which included eggs, tortilla, toast, yogurt, fruit etc. There is is a bar/ restaurant across the road with great food, another bar in plaza mayor that does pizza, and a small supermarket, bakery, pharmacy etc. nothing closes for siesta. There is also a church that has a service each night at 8pm.

They open @ 1 p.m. it was so clean! Nice clean sheets & pillowcase provided. Full use of kitchen and cooking essentials - stovetop & microwave. Restaurant is closed Monday. Little grocery store has enough to make dinner. Also a bar serving pizza. A small breakfast is provided by the donativo, toast, coffee, tea & a few pastries - just enough to get you going! Run by volunteers. Overall a wonderful stay!!

The albergue is donativo and it embraces the spirit of the Camino by the hospitality that the hospitaleros extend to pilgrims. The facilities are very good - towels and sheets are provided.

Note that there is no advance booking and luggage sent ahead is not accepted. It opens at 2 pm.

Highly recommended

One of our favorite Albergues of the Camino. The dorm is open and spacious and you get real sheets and a towel when you arrive. Hot showers and very friendly hospitaleros, we would stay here again all Camino if we could!

Bunk & breakfast by donation. No dinner served. Restaurant & small store 5-minute walk. Kitchen use limited to microwave. Laundry, they do it, 6€. As of May 2022, still at 50%, which means everyone gets a bottom bunk.

They open at 1:00 PM.

Bed was 7€ when I arrived June 2019.
Basic Pilgrim menu available for 7,50. 1l bottle of wine for 3€ (1€ for glass).
